Korossol Into The Ring 16
I only recently got to listen to English podcasts. I tried some time ago to follow the "Ted Talk Radio Hour" because I'm fond of the program and would have liked to listen to it outside of home. I'm still trying. It is very, very hard. I'm actually very proud of myself for understanding some part of what the speaker means! Some things make it easier: When I already heard that part on the Ted Talk site, sometimes with subtitles. When people talk slowly and calmly. When they don't have an accent. You see my drift.
"Reply All" was a bust, which frustrated me. There's too many people, who talk fast, laugh, cut themselves and others and, well, I never could follow an episode without reading the transcript. (May the transcriptor be blessed, because I LOVE this show.)
I'm getting better, though. My ear is getting used to those sounds... and I'm also very stubborn.
What podcasts DO work for me? Short texts of fiction read by professionals before an audience. I tried two "New York Times Writers" programs with ease and stopped them for no other reason that they were honestly depressiong. (Yes. Every. Text.) I tried "Levar Burton reads" and still wonder if what I heard was the story or my imagination. I'm still listening to "Selected Shorts" with no real problem.
I recently listened an episode of "Myths and Legends" about Japanese myths. I laughed so hard, I'm sure people who saw me on the street thought I was insane. I didn't realized I had absorbed so much slang (and so many memes!) until I was laughing at the way the speaker was presenting the story. let me tell you, that was an ADAPTATION of the original legend. But it certainly was worth my time.

Imparo dalla gente e cosa interessata e significativa
Non posso più perdere tempo, facendo niente.
Dopo non aver fatto nulla, mi sento frustrato.
Oggi sono rimasto a letto per la maggior parte del tempo.
Leggevo il libro fantascienza e dormivo per rilassarmi, o per dire, per dimenticare la realtà.
Ci sono molte cose difficili.
So che queste sono importante e devo spendere il tempo sulle.
Al stesso tempo, ho paura di farle.
Perché miglio tanto lentamente e il processo non è interessato.
Comunque, adesso facendo qualcosa significativa e interessata, scrivendo in italiano o tedesco.
Qualche vecchio dice, se prolunga il tempo, tutto cioè che sta soffrendo ora non significherà nulla.

나의 하루
오늘 저는 오전 여섯시반에 일어났어요. 깬 후에, 아침을 먹었고 아침을 위한 뜨거운 오트밀을 먹었어요. 그리고 옷을 빨리 입었어요. 다음에 넷플릭스를 간단히 시청했어서, 넷플릭스로 '누나의 첫사랑'을 봤어요. 그 좋은 프로그램에 서른 살 이는 예쁜 여자는 사람을 사랑한 본 적이 없는데 어린 남자와 일을 하는 것을 찾았어서 사랑도 찾았어요. 드라마가 많이 있으니까 재미있다.
나중에, 제가 힘들고 지루한 수학 조금 공부하면서, 쇼챔피언스를 당분간 봤어요. 쇼챔피언스는 아스트로에서 아름다운 문빈 씨와 귀여운 산하 씨하고 저한테 가장 좋은 벨리벨리에서 강민 씨 이는 MC 있어서, 그들은 함께 잘 지내요. 뮤지갱크의 MC는 투모로우바이투게더에서 이는 수빈 씨가 극도로 재미있는데요(I think that music bank’s MC, Soobin, who is from Tomorrow by Together, is more funny though).
이 후에, 가끔 하는 Sims를 했다가 여동생은 여동생이랑 페스트리를 굽고 싶으냐고 말했고 Sims를 하려고, 그렇지만 저는 여동생을 도와 준다고 했어요. 여동생과 굽은 후에, 아빠하고 빵을 구웠어요.
마지막으로, 아주 바쁜데 재미있고 기쁜 날이 있었어서 지금 너무 졸려요.

Apprentisage du français
La première chose j'appris en français être numéros. Mon premier objectif ètait lire en français. J'accomplis cet objectif en lycée. Je lus <<Harry Potter à l'École des Sorciers>>. J'ai été heureuse complèter mon objectif. Après, mon nouveau objectif ètait écouter et comprendre du français. Je travaille toujours sur cet objectif. J'écoute des podcasts et les livres parlés en français. Ce n'est pas parfait, mais je comprends la plupart de ce que j'entends sans avoir besoin de traduction.
Mon objectif subséquente est parler en français avec assurance. Cepandant, je n'ai pas personne parler avec. Mes amis qui ont appris le français avec moi à l'école ne parle plus le français. Actuellement, je manque d'assurance commencer, donc je me concentre sur le renforcement de mes compétences en lecture, en écriture, et en écoute première.

I'm not sure immersion is needed to learn a language. Some seem to manage to learn at school, by correspondance or online. But it is certainly helpful and, I think, the best way to succeed.
English is a bit THE language on the web, so I don't need to change my electronics to be in foreign territory. It's only recently that most electronic do adapt immediately to your own language. On a lot of sites I did visit at the time, English was (and still usually is) the basic option. Now you can sometimes choose the option "French" which I don't because I rarely need to. In my early years of learning, my broken pieces of English made me the computer genius of the family (which was hilarious because I still don't understand how those things work). As said by French humorist Anne Roumanoff, "When it (the PC) is really really angry, it talks English." Ah, the good old days of the Blue Screen of Doom, when I was called to explain WHAT was wrong this time. When I had to identify spam (the mailbox didn't do it for you yet. I'm feeling old, suddenly.) by translating confusing texts. "Did you purchase a... what is a water apapratus? Is that like a young hippo?" "I don't know! I was trying to purchase a sticker for my laptop." So many mysteries hidden in a language.
My reading English is very good, I can read novels and most books, except very specialized ones. I don't know how to say "my comprehension of what I hear" but it's getting really better. I can look videos in original version, listen to songs, follow some youtubers (but not all of them) and lately I am trying podcasts and Tedtalks... with more or less success.
For writing... well, I'm here.

Les races de chiens
Beaucoup de gens trouvent les bouledogues françaises très mignonnes, mais j'ai entendu dire qu'ils ont souvent des problèmes de santé. Moi, j'adore le Malamute d'Alaska, mais j'imagine que cette race serait mal à l'aise chez moi, car j'habite dans un climat assez chaud. En tout cas, je suis allergique à ces chiens, donc même si j'habitais dans un autre lieu, ça ne serait pas une option. Le labradoodle est sans aucun doute le meilleur choix pour moi. Ma famille a adopté une petite labradoodle il y a cinq mois et elle est vraiment super. Elle se comporte bien la plupart du temps et elle et si mignonne ! En plus, elle s'est déjà habituée à dormir dans ma chambre, la chambre de ma soeur et celle de mes parents.
Il y a plein de facteurs que influent sur la décision d'adopter un animal domestique. Mais avant tout, il faut prendre conscience des besoins du chien et veiller à ce qui vous soyez capable de prendre bien soin de lui.

13. Svenska i mitt dagliga livet.
Jag älskar att baka, laga mat och läsa, så jag gör dessa aktiviteter på svenska också! Jag har köpt två kokböcker på svenska, en om veganska traditionella svenska måltider och en om typiska rätter runt världen. Jag försöker göra åtminstone ett recept från dem varje vecka. Jag förstår ganska mycket allt så det är bra övning, men ibland ska ett nytt ord komma upp och då lär jag mig något nytt!
Jag försöker prata svenska mer med min partner och sin mamma också. De pratar fortfarande lite för snabbt. När jag skickar meddelande till min partner skriver jag på svenska.
Jag försöker studera tre timmar om dagen, men ibland är det mer och ibland är det mindre. Det beror på min dagliga motivation.

10. Min dagliga rutin
Helig tofu, jag har redan skrivit om det så många gånger före! Jag pratade om det innan med mina SFI och SAS kurser.
Jag brukar vakna klockan 8, men ibland ska jag vakna senare om jag somnade senare natten före. Jag står upp och förbereder frukosten. Det beror på vad som jag vill äta och det förändrar varje dag! Ibland är det en smoothiebowl, och den nästa dagen är det bröd med smör. Efter frukosten brukar jag studera svenska för minst tre timmar. Jag läser en bok på svenska, eller tittar på en film på svenska, lyssnar på svenska låtar och försöker översätta dem, arbetar med Duolingo, HeyLingo och LangCorrect, etc.
Efter svenska är det måltiden. Om jag är ensam ska jag äta något enkelt, som en smörgås. Om min partner arbetar inte ska jag laga mat, och sen äter vi medan vi tittar på en serie. Nu tittar vi på Brooklyn 99. Eftermiddagarna är min kreativtid. Jag brukar spela flöjt, rita, ta en promenad, etc.
Varje dag tillbringar jag lite tid för att leta efter ett jobb som översättare.

La historia sobre perder mi cartera
Anteayer me levanté con mi novia en su casa. Al mediodía decidimos almorzar ramen. Ella me prestó algún dinero porque no tenía nada dinero ese momento. Tras comer nos dijimos adíos y me fui a mi casa por autobús. Necesité andar en bicicleta por un momento después de que llegaba la parada. Pensé irme a mi casa originalmente, pero tuve que tomar dinero del cajero automático, por lo tanto hice así en una tienda. Tras eso montó en bici a la parada de bici. Cuando la acababa de regresar encontré que se me cayó la cartera. De repente corrí rápidamente a donde solo venía. Me tardé cuarenta segundos en llegar a la tienda, pero no la encontré. No la buscaba aun así caminé de un lado a otro. Eliminé mi tarjeta de débito por el servicio al cliente de este banco tan pronto como volví a mi casa. Llamé a la policía por cómo sé si se busque la billetera. Me dijo que tengo que irme a la estación para informar sobre este caso en papel. Entonces andaba en bici pública de nuevo y me tardé sobre siete minutos. Me cansé después de todos. A pesar de que había los documentos de identidad y estudiante el ella no los quería desactivar porque me molesta que le pido unos documentos del gobierno.

30 Day Language Challenge - Día Catorce
Probablemente "hola" y "como estas" y los numeros uno a diez jaja. Nunca tomé español realmente en la escuela, pero, miraba "Dora the Explorer" y tenía unas lecciónes simples en español cuando estaba mas joven en la escuela primaria. Después de eso, nunca aprendé nada en español hasta Septiembre de 2019. Mi primer objetivo fue entender personas que hablan español y poder comunicarse con ellos para cosas básicas. Obviamente, no puedo comunicarse súper bien o hablo sobre cosas muy complicadas, pero, creo que he llegado a mi primer objetivo. Ahora, puedo entender muchas cosas en español, y cuando me frustra, tengo que recordar no pude hacer eso ni siquiera un año pasado. Quiero llegar a un nivel donde puedo hablar más rapido y fácilmente, y tengo habilidad con entender subjectos más complicados. Sé que eso va a tomar mucho tiempo.

9. Efter svenska
Efter svenska skulle jag vilja lära mig japanska. Jag älskar Japan och hoppas att jag kommer att bo där en dag i några månader. Jag älskar mycket om Japan, som till exempel kulturen, maten, sagorna, traditionerna, etc. Jag har redan faktiskt försökt lära mig japansk flera gånger men det var länge sedan, innan jag visste om Duolingo, HeyLingo och LangCorrect. Jag lärde mig ensam utan lärare eller hjälp och det var svårt. Jag försökte tre gånger och gav upp tre gånger. Jag vill att nästa gång jag lär mig japanska att gå till slutet och kunna prata lite.
Förutom svenska kan jag också spanska, engelska och franska. Franska är mitt modersmål.

Pierwsze rzeczy, których się uczę w języku
Gdy zaczynam się uczyć języka, skupiam się najpierw na wymowie. Myślę, że uczę się szybciej, gdy już wiem, jak wymówić słowo, choć tego słowa nie znam. Niestety to nie działa na wszystkich językach: mam na myśli takie języki, jak chiński, dla których pismo i wymowa nie mają nic wspólnego. Z tego powodu uczę się najpierw zasad ortograficznych.
Potem skupiam się na gramatyce. Zanim zacznę uczę się słów, muszę być w staniu poznawać rodzaj każdego słowa (np. gdy są rzeczownikami, czasownikami, przymiotnikami itd) i budować zdanie. Myślę, że nie ma sensu uczyć się listę słów, gdy nie umiem ich użyć w zdaniu.
W końcu zaczynam się uczyć słownictwa. To jest dla mnie najtrudniejsze, bo nie znam dobrej metody: czy powinienem uczyć się listę słów, czy słowa w kontekście? Czasami pomaga się uczyć „rodziny słów”, czyli jedno słowo, które ma różnych „potomków” (na przykład „zimny” odnosi się do „zimy”, od którego pochodzi słowo „zimowy”).
Gdy chodzi o polski nauczyłem się wielu słów tłumaczając piosenki, bo tam słowa są używane w zdaniu, czyli mają kontekst. Analizowanie tekstów może być dobrą metodą, bo po pierwsze rozumie się, jak Polacy się wyrażają, a potem widzi się jakie słowa są częściej używane. W przeciństwie słowa w piosenkach nie zawsze są użyteczne w codziennym życiu.

勉強
もう十年くらい日本語を勉強している。はじめて日本語で覚えたことはしますの過去形だ。日本語を覚えるつもりなかったが、興味あって漫画を翻訳する人に聞いて知った。英語とどんな違いあるのかなと思って聞いたわけだだ。日本語が面白いから覚えようと思った。最初の目標は漫画を日本語で読むことだったが、まずひらがなとカタカナを覚えないと思ってそれを目標にした。どうやって覚えたというと、ひらがなとカタカナでローマ字の発音で表した表を覚えてみてドラゴンボールを読みながら発音をしてみた。もしひらがなかカタカナの発音を忘れたら表をみて復習した。その繰り返しだった。
ひらがなとカタカナを覚えたから、文法と語彙を覚えてみてそのあとオンラインチャットルームで話す相手を探していいなと思った相手と友達になってスカイプを交換して毎日話していた。そいうふうに勉強をしてに二年が経った。そのごろ留学するチャンスがやってきて日本に留学しに行った。留学していていろんな方と出会って大学の漫画研究会に入ってリレー漫画をも書いた。留学した間、毎日知らない日本語と触り合ってたくさん覚えた。よく漫研の人たちと時間を過ごしたりした。漫画を読んだり、ゲームをやったり、麻雀をやったりしていた。
そのときは大学では日本語の授業も受けたが、授業に向いていない性格なので勉強にはあんまり役に立たなかった。授業でやっていたことはなんのために勉強しているのか詳しく教えてくれなかったから勉強する必要さがあるのか疑問を持った。納得いける理由があれば勉強したくなるが、なんの意味のない勉強だとあんまり勉強したくない。たとえば、これを覚えてくださいと言われたらなんでとなる。なんのために勉強しているのかはっきり教えてくれないとなかなか勉強する気にならない。今だと思うと、自分で考えてなんのために勉強しているのか考えればよかったと思うが、本来それは先生の仕事ではないかと思う。
留学が終わってアメリカにしばらく帰った。その間は日本語を自分なりに勉強した。その勉強仕方は本を読むことと、ネットで知り合った人たちと仲良くした。今までだとほとんど独学で日本語を覚えた。いろんなやりかたをやってみたが、やっぱり自分に一番役に立つ勉強なのは本、漫画、記事などを読むことだ。もちろんニュースをみたり、ポッドキャストやオーディオブックを聞いたりすると、聞き取りと聴解に役に立つ。シャドーイングもしたりした。
今だと問題なく漫画と小説を読むことができる。しかし、古文・用語ばっかり使われている文章だと苦労する。今の目標は古文を読めるようになること、文章力を磨くこと、アクセントを直すこと、漢検順一級を合格することというところだ。まだまだ時間かかりそうだけど、頑張りたいと思う。平均国民より日本語を使いこなせるようになりたい。誰にも負けないようになりたい。生意気かもしれないけど、頑張ればそうなれるんじゃないかと思う。
なかなか長い投稿だったね。あんまりしっかりくる構成ではないので、読み手にとって少しわかりづらいかもしれない。どんなことを伝えたいかわかりにくいよね。とりあえず書こうと思ったので、頭に思い浮かんだことを書いてみた。どうぞよろしく。

波兰的复活节
在波兰，除了圣诞节，复活节是最重要的节日。复活节是最重要的天主教节日之一。每年的复活节都是不同的日子，但经常是三月至四月之间的某个时间。这个节日纪念耶稣基督的复活。欧洲国家当中，波兰有一些比较特别的复活节风俗习惯。
在波兰挺多人是天主教徒。对他们来说，传统观念和天主教对复活节的影响还是巨大的。复活节，就像圣诞节一样，本来只是宗教的节日，但现在也已成为一个家庭的庆典。意思是现在不只是天主教徒庆祝复活节。我的家人大部分不是天主教徒，但我们还是每年都庆祝复活节，而很喜欢。虽然复活节有一些跟宗教有密切的关系的风俗，像参加弥撒，但还有许多源自民间传统的习俗。复活节已经有点商品化了，商店和超市总是使用复活节的时期来销售更多的产品，例如巧克力兔子和鸡蛋。
复活节最重要的日子之一是圣周六，复活节星期日和复活节星期一。每一天都有不同的习俗。圣周六时波兰人习惯把之前准备好的食物，主要是肉、蛋、辣根、面包等，拿到教堂去。按照波兰传统，鸡蛋要画成不同的颜色。在教堂里，牧师把食物用水洒一洒，以把它变成神圣的。下一天，在复活节星期日，有复活节最重要的一顿饭——复活节早餐。那时亲戚团聚，一起吃上天准备的神圣食物。复活节星期一波兰人为了带来好运而互相泼水。
除了这些风俗之外，我家人还有复活节的时候一起去旅行的习惯。我们每年去不同的波兰小镇或者农村。吃复活节早餐之后我们一起去散步，欣赏波兰农村美丽的春天景色。有时候我们还参观当地的名胜古迹。虽然我不是天主教徒，但复活节还是我最喜欢的波兰节日之一因为可以跟家人一起待时间。

DERECHO A SABER
Política
La Administración de Seguridad y Salud Ocupacional (OSHA) desarrolló una norma se titula “Hazard Communication” (29 CFR 1910). Esta norma requiere que los empleadores proporcionan información a sus empleados con respeto a los químicos peligrosos en el lugar de trabajo por medio de un programa de comunicación de peligros.
Nota: Las agencias estatales en Michigan (MIOSHA) y Kentucky (KOSH) refuerzan esta norma. OSHA federal refuerza la norma en West Virginia.
La norma del Derecho a Saber/Comunicación de Peligros establece requisitos uniformes para asegurar de evaularse los peligros de todos los químicos importados en, producidos, o usados en lugares de trabajo de E.E.U.U., y la información de peligros resultante y las medidas de protección asociadas se transmiten a los empleadores afectados y a los empleados potencialmente expuestos.

Usted o su representante puede pedir, y debe recibirse a pedido, toda la información con respeto a los peligros de sustancias químicos tóxicos en el lugar de trabajo.

Todos los empleados de la compania cuyo trabajo requiere que funcionar un montacarga industrial motorizado deben entrenarse y aprobar con éxito un examen escrito y manejado antes de operar cualquier montacarga en las instalaciones de Harbor Steel.
Formación:
Todos los empleados recibirán un manual de instructores de camiones motorizados industriales y/o ver un video de formación.
• Un examen escrito se dará.
• Un examen manejado se dará, incluso pero no limitado al siguiente:
• Los controles del camión
• La señalización correcta

(A simple visit to a Jordanian house outside lunch time, would show you a certain order of the drinks and foods served to you. Starting with the Jordanian coffee, then moving to cold fruit drinks, especially in summer. Followed by cakes, cookies, or nuts served with tea. If you're enjoying your visit and staying for a longer time than what you initially planned, more dishes will be coming your way, like fresh seasonal fruits, or dried fruits. Turkish coffee with assorted chocolates are usually served at the end of the visit but it's not a rule.)

- This meal consists of green sauce, prepared of the finely chopped mulukhiyah leaves, and cooked with chicken. It's served with white rice, and lemons cut in halves on the side for anyone to add a fresh lemon squeeze to their plate.
- The second version of this meal which is loved by many Jordanians, is the mulukhiyah whole leaves. It's cooked with boneless chicken or small chunks of veal, and eaten with bread. What gives mulukhiyah its distinct taste are the chopped garlic and coriander.
Another popular meal consists of a plant close to mulukhiyah is mallow. Known in Arabic as "khubeizeh", this wild plant makes a fine vegetarian meal. Mallow weed is sautéed with chopped onions, and eaten with bread:

- Finally, this leads us to gundelia. Known locally as "akkoub":

Although it's craved by many, this plant needs a lot of work in order to be edible. Thorns of the wild gundelia must be removed first, then it's sautéed with chopped onions. It could be eaten alone or eggs could be added. Same as khubeizeh and mulukhiyah whole leaves, akkoub is also eaten with bread.
12. Kuftah and Kabab:
Kuftah is prepared of minced lamb or veal, or the mixture of both. Meat is mixed with onions, parsley and herbs, then flattened in a tray and baked in the oven. Kuftah is either made with tomato slices, or with potato slices and covered with tahini sauce.

Kibbeh, as the Lebanese call it, is considered a side dish which isn't easy to prepare.
- The paste is made of pounding groats and mixed with meat. Then it's shaped into hollow balls, and filled with minced meat and pine nuts. Kubbah balls are deep fried.
- Steamed kubbah is another popular dish in the northern part of Jordan. This version is made as one paste, mixing the pounding groats and meat, then forming them into balls and final step is to steam them.

GRE Argument 'Theatre's Profits'

The following appeared in an e-mail sent by the marketing director of the Classical Shakespeare Theatre of Bardville.
"Over the past ten years, there has been a 20 percent decline in the size of the average audience at Classical Shakespeare Theatre productions. In spite of increased advertising, we are attracting fewer and fewer people to our shows, causing our profits to decrease significantly. We must take action to attract new audience members. The best way to do so is by instituting a 'Shakespeare in the Park' program this summer. Two years ago the nearby Avon Repertory Company started a 'Free Plays in the Park' program, and its profits have increased 10 percent since then. Therefore, I recommend that we start a 'Shakespeare in the Park' program of our own. If we do so, I predict that our profits will also see a significant increase."
Essay
In the e-mail, the marketing director of the Classical Shakespeare Theatre of Bardville recommends holding a 'Shakespeare in the Park' program to increase the theater's profits. However, the director's argument's reliance on three unwarranted assumptions weakens its viability.
To begin with, the director believes that the decrease in the audience is the major problem causing the decrease in Classical Shakespeare Theatre's profits. The director mentions the 20 percent decline in the average audience size over the past ten years. Of course, with the decline in audience, the theater's incomes made by selling tickets will fall consequently. However, a theater's income may consist of other things, such as patrons from companies whose advertisement is involved in the theater's productions. If this part contributed most to the theater's profits and had dropped more seriously than the audience size, the director couldn't assert that the profits would increase significantly by attracting more audience.
Second of all, the director assumes that people would enjoy Classical Shakespeare Theatre's performances as much as Avon Repertory Company's. The director uses the success of Avon Repertory Company's 'Free Plays in the Park' program as supporting evidence. However, he or she doesn't mention the similarities between their productions. It is possible that the productions of these two companies are of totally different genres, lengths, themes, and other characters. In that case, the director cannot assert that they can duplicate the success of Avon Repertory Company's program since people may have less interest in their productions than Avon Repertory Company's.
Moreover, the director thinks that the major problem of Classical Shakespeare Theatre's production is the way the theater attracts its audience, not its production's content or other factors. The director suggests that a performance in a park is an efficient way to attract the audience. However, this is on the grounds that the performance itself is attractive enough. The reason why the size of the theater's average audience has decreased may be simply because people nowadays are no longer interested in their productions. In that case, the performance wouldn't have a sufficient audience whatever its location is.
In conclusion, the marketing director fails to give a convincing argument. Unless the director attaches more information on their profits' composition, details about Avon Repertory Company's productions, and whether their productions are still attractive enough, his or her recommendation doesn't hold water.
