In Japan, decreasing birth rate and an aging population are big problems. Related to it, there are many accidents caused by a car with old people. The driving ability weakens as people get older. They tend to mistake accel as brake or overlook traffic signs.
Driving in the wrong direction on highway is not rare. I heard a story that I thought it's a joke at first. An old man was driving on highway, and the news said there was a vehicle driving the wrong way, so you should drive carefully. His family worried about him and phoned him. He said "It's alright, but all cars are going the wrong way! " In fact, the dangerous car was his one. He believed he never made a mistake.

Hi everyone!
Today, I have made a major decision that I firmly determined to write a daily diary frequently to practice my writing skills in English. I would also like to utilize this diary to keep my memory and unique feelings of every day. I have decided to write my diary here because I believe that this exchange learning platform can help me to become a better English writer and I would like to communicate with those people on this platform.
I am a student and I am on summer break now. In order to make my holiday more meaningful and memorable, I have participated in a four-week English and culture program organized by a Canadian university. I have joined this program via zoom on account of the virus outbreak. I have expected that I will improve my English and meet folks from different backgrounds.
To be honest, I was quite nervous since rarely I do speak English in daily life and then I was worried that I could not handle this course very well. However, today is the first day I meet my teacher and classmates. All of them are very nice. Most of the students in my class are from Janese and the rest students are from Hong Kong just like me. When the teacher asked questions in Zoom, none of us answered her because we were a little shy and did not immerse in the new environment. I hope I will be braver and more proactive in the next few days and do more cultural exchanges with my classmates.
That is all.

Recently, I am reading a book about making stoires of "Back to the future".
I really like the movie, so I have watched more than ten times.
The book is about how to create the idea of the movie and which behind the stories are.
For example, the main actor is changed during making half of the movie.
The time machine was powered by nuclear instead of lighting on the first draft.
I didn't know that there was no plan about the sequels.
I am very happy not only to read interesting stories, but also to see pictures of making the movie.
I will watch the animation of Back to the future as well.

In Japan, hot weather continues. The temperature is around 25 degrees. It is so hot compared with last year. I can't stand the weather, so I wore a tank top. But my mother persuaded me not to wear it because people haven't worn a tank top. I cannot wait for the coming summer. I love the season. For the season, I tan my skin and do weight training. Last Sunday, I went to a tanning salon. After I went there, I always feel better. But the salon is very expensive. It takes 25$ per once, and I have to continue to go there, so my money will be gone. If I skipped going there, my skin couldn't keep the brown color. I have to make money for keeping brown skin.

The tourist area of Mammoth is located in the Zhalainuoer District, Hulunbeier City, Inner Mongolia. It covers an area of 1 square kilometers and gained the honor of the biggest statue group of mammoth in the world from Shanghai Guinness head office in 2013. The tourist area has 93 paleontological sculptures in total. Among them, there are 87 mammoth sculptures. I remember I sent you some pictures taken there. The blue skies are like washed and the white clouds are very low. It looks really amazing. Besides it is very near to Manzhouli port, you can see a great national gate bordering Russia. So if you have time, welcome to China, which is a beautiful country worth visiting.

You are right, Manzhouli is located in the Hulunbeier prairie, with vast land and sparsely populated areas. I noticed that when you read the words "满洲里", it sounded perfect, as if you were speaking in your mother tongue.
The primary industry of Manzhouli is animal husbandry, because it is in the grassland.
Yes, each lightning is unique and, like each of us, can't be copied.
Through your description, I can imagine the color and the appearance of the Northern Lights. When you talked about the beliefs of the locals about the Northern Lights, I suddenly felt it was mysterious and sacred, and I felt awe.
I know the Dead Sea, because of its high salt content, people won't sink in it, but I never knew that there was a mineral pool similar to the Dead Sea in Canada. If I were there, I think I would definitely try it out because it would be very interesting.
I checked some information and found that there were three "dead seas" in China. One is the salt lake in Yunchen, Shanxi, and it is formed naturally. The other two are semi-artificial, that is, excavating the underground salt water hot spring to form the effect of the Dead Sea. One is in Suining, Sichuan, and the other is in Sanshui, Foshan, Guangdong.
Yes, you sent a picture of this place last winter and it looked icy and snowy, very depressed. Now it looks much better: the ice has melted, the water flows and you can smell the breath of spring.
Spring is always beautiful. It means warmth, hope and life. Let's embrace the spring tightly.

I didn't use to read in my native language. I wasn't into reading. I hated books too much! A few years ago when I had started learning English, I tried very hard to find ways to learn it on my own. I had been watching a lot of movies to improve my English, and sometimes I took some words out of those movies to memorize them. But I didn't notice any progress in my level. Later on, I heard that the best way to learn languages is to read so many fiction books. Fiction books come with a lot of vocabulary and that was what I wanted to learn English. Then, I started to force myself to read in English (I didn't do it in my native language). Honestly, I started reading some advanced books that made me got bored sometimes, and I changed my method of reading into reading something simpler. I read kids' stories, easy novels, and articles. Then reading became my hobby, and one of my habits that I do every day. Now I enjoy reading so much. I spend all my time reading in my second language, and I decided to become a writer. I read all my time to improve my English and have fun. Nowadays, I am trying to make writing one of my hobbies. I write in English about anything to practice every day hoping I become a successful writer in English someday. Finally, we have to love reading because it is so important to get knowledge and to improve ourselves. It's so easy to make reading a habit as I did, and I am certain I will make writing one of my favorite hobbies.

Using only familiar expressions is easier even if it looks perfect by others.
Immediate interaction with using them might be enough to facilitate talking.
But for the next trajectory to go ahead, sometimes it is not attitude to be preferred.
Using new expressions, experimental or adventurous ones are more thrilling and beneficial.
Being fluent and automation of wording are often viewed as ideals for language learners.
But I have a different view on it. Without awareness and contemplation before uttering and with prioritizing fluency or perfectness , one tends to go into circle of repetition with less progress and risk.
It is beautiful on the surface, and one might be praised by others because of the perfectness and fluency.
But that is a fragile house of cards. To say nothing of tornado, a momentary gust or even exhalation of someone is much enough to dabacle.
Thus sometimes one has to break one's internal limitation apart and accept shame stemmed from making faults or immature misunderstanding.
Meanwhile, I arrived here today where people can correct each other without excessive hesitation as far as abiding by the minimum rule.
This will enable us to avoid Avoidance which is often used among us whether conscious or not to avoid being uncomfortable because of out of routine.
That is why there seems to be no room of doubt that this website is a must or an enabler for most of sincere learners of language that they seek to obtain.
Thank you for reading. Enough for today.

In China, once the college entrance exam is completed, students have to fill in the college and major based on their score. It is not easy to change majors after entering university. In high school, we would divide the subjects for the college entrance exam into humanities (politics, history, geography) and science (physics, chemistry, biology); we follow this division in college. Although with the integration of subjects, this division is very uncritical.
1. Society needs human resources in humanities. Rapidly developing society with industrial technology is necessary; however, it is now an information-driven society and the service industry has emerged, and the study of humanities needs more talents in order to provide better services.
2. The humanities are important for the study of human relations. The emphasis on theory in the study of science majors on campus is detached from industry, and it is most people who cannot get good jobs. With the development of artificial intelligence technology, more and more technology can be done by machines, but the emotional connection between humans can not be replaced by machinery.
