Image of English words

I watch below video on Youtube.

https://youtu.be/3BCn6f0cjBI?si=w0XPqjuQjmg2KYzl

This video serises are explose English with phrases in anime.
I especially study image of English words with the video.

I used to study English in the school and just memorized the meanings of the English words then.
For example, "get" is 「手に入れる」,「もらう」, "with" is「一緒に(together)」 , "on" is 「上に」 (I can't write well)
Many students were tought like this in Japanese school.
I think this is why there’s a disconnect between the actual images of English words and how they have images.

I consider that have to relearn the actual images of English words.

I changed it to English quotation marks so the spacing (空白) was better. "Etc." is the English version of など. It's short for "etcetera", which is Latin for "and so on". Unlike Japanese "など", "etc." is very casual, so you can't use it in formal writing (eg. an essay, a report for work, etc.), but it's okay to use online and when talking to others. It always has a full stop (.) at the end because it's an abbreviation (a short version of a long word, like "Mr." being short for "mister").

"Perceive" is a fancy word for "see", but here it also means "what opinions people have". "Imagery" is related to what you see. For example, the imagery of the word "animal" would be pictures of cats, dogs etc. This word worked earlier, when you talked about hearing the word while seeing what it's being used for, but now, the word "meaning" is better.
