I love Japanese food and rice, so I also love miso soup and baked salmon. I love Japanese food and rice, so I also love miso soup and baked salmon.

The "and rice," makes it sound like not included in the japanese food. If that was intended then that is fine. It just seemed a bit akward phrasing. I would maybe say if they not in the same category. "I love Japanese food as well as rice," Then again, I think the and works fine for them not being in the same category as well. If they are, and rice is a subset you wanted to emphisize. I would say, "I love Japanese food, including rice,"

I have never eaten miso soup since I started to live in this dormitory.
