I have a cup of water in front of me. Recently I try to get as much hydration as I can for my health. Especially, winter is dry season, so I am being careful.

Recently give the impression you are talking about recent past, since drinking regularly is an ongoing activity, you should use "I have been trying" instead of just "try".
