I remember last time lots of foreigners came to our domestic internet was when twitter was bought by Elon Musk and changed its name to X. But last time was different because the foreigners came to Chinese internet(an APP named Weibo) was Japanese artists who were afraid of some new bans. Many young Chinese and Japanese were happy too because we made new friends and Chinese could enjoy many Japanese picture and Japanese could get lots of new Chinese fans. I miss that time. Now many Japanese artists are silent in Weibo.
This morning, I browsed through discussions on RedNote and Reddit about the recent surge of Americans using RedNote. Most of people who talk about this event are having positive attitude. And we are all happy to get closer between us and find out that we actually have a lot in common. Before this, I can’t even imagine that I could witness Chinese people being able to access foreign websites without any restrictions in my lifetime. Now I am waiting that moment, so the first English essay I write here. I can’t withstand that if a foreign friend I can made but I miss the chance just because my English is lack of practice and I am not able to being nice enough.
But think about it calmly, most Americans problably won’t spend too much time on RedNote. Just as the same as Japanese drawers before. It may be because the language barrier, and different culture habits and something else. Whatever, we should enjoy our friendship now.
