Imagine a land 6000 years ago, it was huge and beatiful.
There were tall mountains and deep rivers.
There was rich soil but it was very quiet.
There were no human beings.
Then, the first people arrived.
They walked from Asia, they crossed a bridge of ice.
They arrived in a place we now call Alaska.
Slowly they moved south.
These early people became the native Americans in the north.
Today, however these first people are only a very small group in America.
What happened to them? The answer is sad.
The quiet world changed in the 16th century.
European explorers arrived, after them, millions of people from all over the world began to move to this new land.
This moving of people did not stop.
It continued all the way into the 20th century.
People brought different languages and different ideas.
Because of this, America today is a huge mix of people.
There are over 330 million people living in 50 states.
Most people speak English, but it is different from British English.
Also, because of the immigrants, many Americans today speak Spanish as their first language.

想象一下，6000年前的这片土地，辽阔而美丽。
