My Broken Umbrella

My folding parasol broke. It looks like the open-close button had came off while I was unaware.
I brought it to a repair shop and asked if they could fix it, but they said they need to send it to their factory to replace the entire sliding part in the middle of the umbrella shaft. The repair fee would be 5,500 yen, and because now is their busy season, it would take 7 to 8 weeks.
The parasol itself was about 10,000 yen, and I don't want to spend half of the amount for repair. So, I told the clerk that I would consider it.
I can use a key or something to push the part where the button was, so I think I’ll keep using it like that for a while. If it's too inconvenient, I'll buy a new one.

The original sentence is correct, but I think "so" makes more sense here since you are explaining why you wouldn't want to pay that amount. The rest of the corrections here are to fit with that change.

The parasol itself was about 10,000 yen, and I don't want to spend half of the amount foron repair. The parasol itself was about 10,000 yen, and I don't want to spend half of the amount on repair.
