There was upon a time a fearful guy. He was scared of the dark, the woods, the wind, the sounds of the night, and much more. Everything was so threatening for him that simple tasks, such as going to the market or collecting wood for the winter, were an absolute nightmare to his eyes. Their parents found that exasperating. They got furious every time he trembled and cried when being asked to take out the trash.
"What's the matter with you, faint-hearted coward little rabbit?" they said to him, "The world is outside this house and you must face it! What are you gonna do when we perished? Let yourself die from starvation and cold because you're too afraid of going out our door? But he just stared at them perplexedly and kept on crying. That's why one day their parents made a plan to help him learn the hard way: on Market Day the three of them were shopping together, but it wouldn't be like previous Market Days.
He was ecstatic about seeing the stalls overflowing with fruits, meat, and bread (he was shy but glutton). When he turned around to tell his mother that he fancied a delicious-looking watermelon, he discovered petrified that neither his mother nor his father were nowhere to be seen. He was alone and far from home.
