I work as a bookseller at a comic bookshop. I love comics, fantasy, and science fiction books, so it's a pleasure to be surrounded by them on a daily basis. Another part I fancy is my job being a customer-oriented work; usually, deal with customers could be stressful but, even though I have stressful days sometimes, I enjoy a lot interacting with people. Because people going to my bookshop are not just average people, they are readers and geeks, and I absolutely adore to talk to them. I learn a lot, have a good time and it feels like I'm having a conversation with some friends.
However, my hours are the worst! I work a split workday, so I'm at the shop four hours in the morning and four hours in the afternoon. If you add the commute, it's like I lived at the bookstore. And even though I love books, I also would love to have time for, I don't know, living, haha.
Overall, I do enjoy my work and the way books and comics are always linked to me. Like Carlos Ruiz Zafón said: there are worse prisons than words.
