The First Day of My Holiday
I got up so early to take the train to Quanzhou this morning that I felt tired and sleepy during the train ride.
I'm currently sitting in the hotel room, waiting for my friends. Maybe it's due to the delicious local food, I feel refreshed again.
The hotel we're staying at tonight belongs to the IHG. It was booked by one of my friends. Her husband likes international brands. I think she shares the same preference, even though she didn't agree.
I myself prefer local hotels with a good reputation, which are mostly new and with some special local decoration or food.

“I myself prefer” is OK, although I would tend to use “personally” in place of “myself.” Toluwani’s suggestion to omit “myself” is also good.

Great job! I also prefer local hotels, it seems like a better way to truly experience the local area. You can't go wrong with international hotels though, I suppose it's a question of safe + boring vs risk + possible cultural enrichment.
