The beginning of the story
The day was rainny. It was great to waste time at home and do nothing. Of course in older days it could be more productive such as reading a book or prepare the preserves but now it usually mean that you scroll social media. So you turn on zombie mode and the time flies. Awful thing.
The worst thing is that you are conscious of that but who cares?
Your brain cares. It change to fried chips and your condition to get te knowledge stay poor.
So how to start protect themselves from that?
Leave smartphone away and look how the time fly slower - such as in the rolex watch.

This sentence does not really make sense. I think you meant to say that it was a "great chance to stay at home" rather than go out. You would not use the word "great" when talking about something negative, such as wasting time.
Of course in older days, (instead of saying "in older days" you could say "10 years ago") it could be more productive, such as reading a book or prepare theing the preserves (not sure what you mean by preserves) but now it usually means that you scroll social media.
