Tariff War with the US

The federal government of Canada returned a 25% tariff to American products as retaliation, while China only filed a lawsuit to the World Trade Organization.

Corrections

President Trump officially signed documents imposing a 25% tariff on products from Canada and Mexico, with only a 10% on oil products from Canada as an exception.

This sentence is OK. It would sound slightly more natural to say: "with the exception being only 10% on oil products from Canada". I only say that because it is how it I think I tend to hear it. Otherwise, the sentence is fine.

To China, add a 10% tariff extraariffs against China will be 10% higher.

Your original message is already understandable, but a little imprecise. I've changed it to sound more typical.

The federal government of Canada returnimposed a 25% tariff ton American products asin retaliation, while China only filed a lawsuit towith the World Trade Organization.

"In" is the proper preposition for "in retaliation".

Tariff War with the US

President Trump officially signed documents imposing a 25% tariff on imported products from Canada and Mexico, with only aa reduced tariff of 10% on oil products from Canada as an exception.

I added "imported" next to "products" because it helped with clarity.

To China, add a 10% tariff extraFor products from China, he added an extra 10% on top of the existing 25% tariff.

"For products from China" and "on top of the existing 25% tariff" are ways to improve your writing clarity by referencing context you mentioned in your previous sentence.

The federal government of Canada returned a 25% tariff ton American products as retaliation, while China only filed a lawsuit to the World Trade Organization.

Feedback

As always, your writing is quite solid! As an American, this happening is all too expected with Trump returning to office and I'm honestly quite ashamed that so much unease is wrought from these kinds of anti-globalization policies. From your perspective, would you consider that Tariff Wars have any practical purpose that justifies these scuffles?

Thank you!
To be clear, Trump is making the right financial decisions for Americans, American market has been undervalued. Now, Trump is using the American market to safeguard U.S. border. However, Canada is different than any other country. The two nations share the same language, culture, and policies, yet Trump displays a bit of arrogant toward Canada. I believe that the government of China, as always, will be adept at talking to this businessman. The Chinese government cares about their governance and Trump cares about money.

Thank you!
Frankly speaking, this will be good for Americans. While some of the products will increase, it will stimulate American production in the future. New economic system is shaping - some lose money, while others benefit from it. America is likely to become a super company, with Trump as the general manager, no friends, only business partners.
