Smell

1)
- What's the smell?
- It's the smell of durians, I think.
- Oh, I thought it was a smell of some kind of flower.
2)
- Gee, can't you put on some perfume? You're so smelly.
- Really? What smell is it?
- Your body odor, duh.
3)
- Why, milady, you smell so fragrant.
- I am? But I'm not wearing any perfume.
- They say if two are a perfect match biologically, they can smell a special smell from each other.
- Oh, shucks.

Corrections

1)
- What's th
eat smell?

- It's the smell of durians, I think think it's durians.

ur sentence is technically correct, but this is easier to say

- Oh, I thought it was a smell of some kindsome sort of flower.

2)
- Gee, can't you put on some perfume?

gee is informal, but in this context its fine

You're so smelly.

- Really?

What's that smell is it?

3)
- Why,
milady, you smell so fragrant.

But, I'm not wearing any perfume.

Thank you. Actually, Reddit's Chinese version is "百度贴吧"; "知乎" is more like Quora.

yes

- Oh, I thought it was athe smell of some kind of flower.

You're so smelly smell so bad.

The first is grammatically correct, but this is more likely to be said by a native speaker.

What (kind of) smell is it?

I think it reads a little better with "kind of" included, but you can omit it.

3)
- Why, milady, you smell so fragrant.

"Milady" is pretty archaic and using it these days is associated with some pretty negative stereotypes, just a heads up. I think this is supposed to sound old fashioned though?

- They say that if two people are a perfect match biologically, they can smell a special smellcent from each other.

"a smell" has a little bit of a negative connotation, especially when applied to a person, where "a scent" does not.

Thank you! Yeah, about the third dialog, I didn't mean that it had to be like a daily conversation, but now I've caught a better sense of the word "milady."

1)
- What's th
eat smell?

What do I smell is itlike?

What you said was correct but this is more natural and a more common way to say it :)

3)
- Why, milady, you smell so fragrant.

"Milady" is a hugely uncommon word outside of older English and when people are being comedic. It's more common to say "ma'am" if anything at all.

- I amdo?

- They say if two are a perfect match biologically, they can smelldetect a special smellfic scent from each other.

What you said was correct but I changed it to flow a bit better :)

Feedback

Awesome job! Your English is really good :)

I see. Yes, I learn that word from an old English movie. Thank you, my friend.
