What was the first thing you learned in your target language? What were your first goals? Have you finished those goals? Intermediate to advanced: How have you changed studying your target language since day 1? Do you use different resources? What has worked and hasn’t worked for you?

Singing a song a long time ago

I don't remember what was the first thing I learned in English because it happened too many years ago. But I bet it was "hello" or something like that, hehe. I do remember a song a teacher of mine used to sing in English class. It was like that: "Hello, hi, nice to meet you, how are you? what do you do? what do you do?" and I still know the melody. It's weird how many things remain stuck in our heads.
I don't remember either what were my goals at that time but they must have been something closer to be able to understand English songs without checking them online. If that was the case, I think I got it because nowadays I am able to understand pretty much the whole lyrics. However, I struggle a little with getting all the words when watching English movies without subtitles.
I also would like to speak more fluently and write better.

I'd say you write pretty well. A couple of mistakes here and there, but the message came across just fine. And I understand the struggle with watching movies without subtitles :)
