Renjiaxi Hiking Trail
I went hiking along Renjiaxi last Saturday. It's the second time I've hiked on this trail.

Not just because of the views I show you in the video, but also the delicious waxberries and the hospitable local people.
On my way down the mountain, I happened to run into a local person. He placed his full baskets of waxberries on the roadside and said to me, "Don't be shy, help yourself as much as you like." He was not trying to promote his waxberry. He told me that all the waxberries on his plantation were for winemaking, not for selling as fruits.
I met several locals offering me their waxberries. The main crop in the village below the mountain is waxberries, as you walk along, strike up a conversation with the locals and before you know it, you will be fully fed.
The locals are professional. Every waxberry they gave me was perfectly ripe, sweeter than those I picked by myself.

我遇到过好几位当地居民，都请我吃了杨梅。山脚下这个村庄的主要农作物就是杨梅。当你沿着山路前行时，当地人攀谈几句，不知不觉中就会被喂饱了。
当地人是行家里手。他们给我的每一个杨梅都熟得刚刚好，比我自己摘的甜得多。

Yes, it's a typical Southern fruit and really easy to go bad. I suppose the extra care during transportation and the use of cold chain storage made it particularly expensive in the north.

The way you had it was correct, but it makes it sound like you're saying if we've been there this season this year, and I imagine you probably mean at this time of year in general. It would sound even more natural to say "in the summer". (Also contracted you've to make it a bit more casual and less stiff).

"Friendly locals" would be a more routine and less formal way of saying "hospitable local people" if you would like. Also, I'd include that the video you posted is yours in the first sentence and then omit it in the second. That way we know right away and there's no room for confusion.

Also, as a sidenote, "plantation" generally refers to farms that are quite large, and sometimes in the US is short for "slave plantation" although it still remains in its original use as well, "farm" is completely appropriate here and gives the feeling of more of a small family farm, as opposed to a large company farm.
