Reconciliation in Canada

In Manitoba, and probably in other provinces, the speaker would read a few words announcing that they recognize the rights of Indigenous people and apologize for the harm caused by residential schools. I respect all the policy and law in this country, however, I personally do not used to this kind of announcement. That's too much for me, I really don't like to hear it everywhere. If I could, I would advise that this announcement can be made only at some special events, like National Day or sports games. I highly suspect this kind of apology has become annoying to some of indigenous people.

"the speaker would" sounds like you are talking about one speaker in the past. I changed it to "speakers" to refer to all speakers in general.

I respect all the policyies and laws in this country, however, I personally do, am not used to this kind of announcement.

Feedback

Good Job with the writing!
Yes, these acknowledgements are done all across Canada, to bring attention to the fact that we are on Indigenous Peoples traditional land, and to recognize the long lasting traumas brought to Indigenous Peoples with colonization.
