When I was a child, buckets that were used by villagers were made of wood.
To bind the wooden boards together, at least three iron hoops were put on the top, middle and bottom of the buckets.
After using the buckets for a long time, the wooden boards would wear out and only the iron hoops would be left.
The iron hoops would become children’s toys. To play with the hoop, children would find a piece of hard wire and bend one end of the wire into a hook.
When playing the game, children set the hoop upright and pushed it with the hook of the wire.
They would try to push the hoops as far as they could without them falling down.

Could add "the" to "buckets" ("the buckets"), and then remove "that were", depending on the meaning.
