Nothing I Can Do|Random Translation Practice

●There had been nothing I could do except for sitting in front of computer, and had kept in that way living life for a long time.

●Everyday, the only thing I could do was sitting in front of my computer, and had been in my life like this way for so long.

●I have been living in Taiwan even the day my grandma passed away.

當時有好長一段時間自己只能做在電腦桌前甚麼都做不了。

好長一段時間就是待在電腦桌前,這是我當時唯一能做的。

就連奶奶上天堂的那一天我還一直在台灣。

I wasn't really sure what you wanted to say towards the end, so I guessed.

"that's how i lived my life for a long time." Here the "that's" is that was, right? And yes! It's almost the same as what I want to say.
Nothing I could do for a long time, sitting in front of the computer was only thing I could do.
If something happened never stop, I have to use perfect present. I've heard of it. Besides this matter I said happened in the past time, and it ends. That's why I wrote "There was...." as "There had been...".

●I have been livinglived in Taiwan evensince the day my grandma passed away.

I am not a Taiwanese, but I love this country, Taiwan, so I moved to and started to live in Taiwan.

The day that my grandma has gone to heaven, I still stay in Taiwan, so I lose the last time to see her face.

However I can't figured out how to make a sentence in English. Do you understand what I mean?

You could say, "I've been in Taiwan for a long time, even when my grandmother passed away".

I hope this helps!

I've been.... , even "when" my grandmother passed away. Oh~I see. I didn't know that their meaning are different for English nativer speakers if there were not a "when" put in the sentence. I noted it in my notebook! Thank you so much!
