Today I watched another Oscar-winning film, Sound Of Metal. I think the title is a pun, one referring to the fact that the lead character was originally a drummer in a metal band. The other is the sound of metal after the cochlear implant. Of course, there is also the possibility of suggesting the inner cacophony of the lead's voice. The cochlear implant will destroy the residual hearing, and the latest equipment can only reach the level of understanding the conversation, but there is no way to listen to music. The background music will feel like some of the frequencies are missing and the vocals are robotic. It does get mentioned later in the film as well. I know this well because I found out in elementary school that I had lost some of my hearing in my left ear. The music listening experience was almost mono. I love music and am even studying music production, but I am most afraid of panning.
There is a line in the movie that stuck with me. "Being deaf is not a handicap. Not something to fix." That's true. Just like birds see people, they see our lack of wings as a handicap. But for us humans, it's not. My original graduation thesis would have been a library for the hearing impaired if not for the fact that my advisor did not choose my course paper.
Movie: Sound Of Metal

The other is the sound of metal after the cochlear implant.
Which cochlear implant? You introduce this event without describing it.
Of course, there is also the possibility of suggesting the inner cacophony of the lead's voice.
TLater in the movie, the cochlear implant will destroys the residual hearing, and the latest equipment can only reach the level of understanding of the conversation, but there is no way to listen to music.
Are you narrating the events in the movie? If so, I think it is more natural to use the present tense (or past tense).
With that said, maybe this is only my preference, and not the standard.
The background music will feel likesounds as if some of the frequencies are missing and the vocals are robotic.
Same issue as above, prefer the present tense.
It does get mentioned later in the film as well.
I know this well because I found out in elementary school I learned that I had lost some of my hearing in my left ear.
The music listening experience was almost mono.
What do you mean by "mono" in this context?
I love music and am even studying music production, but I am most afraid of panning.
OK, it looks like "panning" is terminology used in music production. If this meant for a general audience, then they might not know what that word means (I certainly didn't before googling).
