Typing an em dash is complicated. On Windows, you can hold Alt and type the code 0150 on the num pad, then release Alt. On iOS (phone), you can hold down the hyphen (-) and it'll give you other options, including the em dash. Phones make it easier. Personally, I prefer just typing two hyphens (--), especially since proper em dashes are now kind of associated with AI writing.
