I had ought to check bus schedule...

Today was very hard day because of taking a wrong bus! The bus I took to buy didn't stop a bus stop I wanted to go. The bus fee is 100 yen, so I think it's not expensive. However, I wanted to save my money, so I took off another bus stop I didn't want to go and I walked to supermarket. It took no less than 30 minutes! Although I came back home by bus, I was so tired.... After I arrived home, I did training because I had decided to do training today....I was exhausted....

I had ought to check bus schedule...

I had ought to check bus schedule.(in general) OR I ought to have checked the bus schedule... (past tense) I ought to check bus schedule.(in general) OR I ought to have checked the bus schedule. (past tense)

OR I should have checked the bus schedule.

I had ought to check the bus schedule... I had ought to check the bus schedule...

I know they probably taught it in your classes, but "ought" is very old-fashioned and people don't really say it anymore. I even had to google to check if your usage was correct. More common phrasing is "I should've checked...".
