The trip to Hong Kong was the first time I went abroad. I remember that I applied for Hong Kong and Macau pass back then. Hong Kong gave me the impression that it was modern, and had many dense high-rise buildings and highly developed financial and commercial industries. But Hong Kong is very small and the streets are very narrow, even the lobbies of four-star hotels are very small. But I think it was very prosperous, especially at night when I watched the flashing neon commercials on the tall buildings on both sides of the straits on a cruise on the Victoria Strait. It was really shocking, because the neon lights were all over the buildings. In Macau, we visited the Venetian and New Pujing Hotel. Although your Mandarin is not very good, your Cantonese should be very good, so I think the language is not a problem for you to be in Hong Kong because Hong Kong people can all speak Cantonese.
