JOC, I Should Have Done It! Cheating Is Fun!

This entry is a sequel of my last two entries about my half marathon.

I got a DNF (Did Not Finish) in my last half marathon. I strained my left hamstring. The retrieval bus took me back to the start and finish point via a shortcut. As a result, I arrived at the finish point in 2:35.

There was a blue timing mat that reacted to runners' RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) chips. A restroom was located just beyond it. This setup made me wonder if I could have cheated by pretending to go to the restroom and crossing the mat to register a finishing time. I was tempted to test whether the cheating would work, but I didn't do it. I felt that such an act would only make me feel more miserable.

Now, looking back, I think I should have tried it just out of curiosity.
The race was rather small, with no timing mats at the starting point, meaning net times were unavailable. There were also no timing mats at the halfway points, making it possible to cheat by taking a shortcut.
I believe the cheating would have worked. And no one would have blamed me.
If you had been me, would you have done it?
"Cheating" is fun, right?
Cheating or mischiefs cherish our childhood, don't they?

単に興味本位でやっときゃよかった!「ズル」ってわくわくする!

私は前回のハーフマラソンでDNF(Did Not Finish:途中棄権)となった。

This entry is a sequel of my last two entries about my half marathon.

I got a DNF (Did Not Finish) in my last half marathon.

I strained my left hamstring.

The retrieval bus took me back to the start and finish point via a shortcut.

As a result, I arrived at the finish point inat 2:35.

I do not know what you mean here by 2:35, like 2 minutes and 35 seconds, 2 hours and 35 minutes, or at 2:35 pm.

Cheating or mischiefs cherishfills our childhood, doesn't ithey?

You could say that childhood cherishes mischief or "cheating or mischief fills our childhood" but that "cheating cherishes our childhood" does not make sense.

This was very well written.

>I do not know what you mean here by 2:35, like 2 minutes and 35 seconds, 2 hours and 35 minutes, or at 2:35 pm.
Thank you for your advice. I started that race at 9:40 am, and I arrived at the finish line at 12:15 pm. Therefore, as a result, I arrived at the finish line in 2 hours and 35 minutes.

>You could say that childhood cherishes mischief or "cheating or mischief fills our childhood" but that "cheating cherishes our childhood" does not make sense.
Thank you.
Okay, I wanted to say something like:
When I think of a "white" cheating (I mean, like a "white lie" the cheating will be regarded as a relatively light crime) as an adult, I may have a nostalgic feeling about my childhood when I used to do a lot of mischiefs as a kid.
Does this sentence make more sense?
I don't think I used the verb "cherish" wrongly.

Oops, wrongly ----> correctly

This entry is a sequel tof my last two entries about my half marathon.

The retrieval bus took me back to the start and finish polinte via a shortcut.

When talking about races, we usually say "finish line", not "finish point"

As a result, I arrived at the finish polinte in 2:35.

I was tempted to test whether the cheatingis would work, but I didn't do it.

The race was rather small, with no timing mats at the starting point, meaning net times were unavailable.

I believe theis cheating would have worked.

I think you did the right thing by not cheating. When you cheat without getting caught, you get praise from others. But, once they find out, you are looked down on.

Instead of wanting to receive approval from others, I think it's best to do something out of your own satisfaction, so there's no need to lie to yourself.

Thank you for your corrections and comment.
You said exactly the right thing.
The record 2:35 for a half marathon is quite a mediocre record, so no one would praise me. And I won't tell the record to anyone else. I didn't cheat maybe because I felt guilty to do so.
