Il Faisait Beau...
Il faisait beau et nous étions à côte de la mer. Nous restions dans l'hôtel grand sur la plage. Nous avions decidé que nous irions nager dans la mer. Ma mère a dit que n'elle a aimé pas nager dans la mer car il était toujours trop froid.
The weather was nice and we were beside the sea. We were staying in the big hotel on the beach. We had decided we would go swimming in the sea. My mother said she didn't like swimming in the sea as it was always too cold.

Being "beside" in the sense "along a coast" is typically "au bord de"
Nous restions dans l'hôtel grand surséjournions au grand hôtel à la plage.
