I like a confection called みたらしだんご(Mitarashi-Dango).
Speaking so, I didn't know much about the sweet.
According to some web source, the name "みたらし" comes from an area's name.
One skewer has 5 dumplings; this is made to look like 5 bubbles in Mitarashi No Ike pond.
About new-year season, I like visiting Fushimi Inari shrine, and, after that, I often buy some Mitarashi Dango skewers; They are delicious.
