My motivation to learn english has always been to travel and meet other cultures.
I was born in the seventies. At that time, English language was mandatory at school after 12 years old. As far as I know, currently kids are already learning it in kindergarten, which is more convenient.
Two hours per week was not enough to reach a basic level, but I found a good motivation for learning within the music. I used to read the lyrics enclosed with the vinyl records. Later when I was a teenager, I spent some summers in the Catalan Coast with my family. Camping sites were an ideal location to meet foreign people. I had several English and Dutch friends that helped me a lot to improve my conversation skills.
One thing that I missed, was watching TV or movies in original version. I know some northern countries had this facility, this allowed them to get familiar with the Language and be fluent. In Spain it was unusual on public TV. Only a few cinemas were showing original version movies with subtitles. Nowadays is easier because there's a full offer of digital platforms that even include subtitles in English.
How long have you been studying your target language and why
My motivation to learn eEnglish has always been to travel and meetexperience other cultures.
Though not wrong, it sounds weird to 'meet other cultures'. We may meet people or instances, but normally we learn or experience cultures.
I was born in the seventies.
At that time, English language was mandatory at school after 12 years old.
As far as I know, cCurrently kids are already learning it in kindergarten, which is more convenient.
This is primarily a stylistic suggestion. The term 'currently' right after the preface 'as far as I know' sounds odd. From my perspective, they both sound like clauses to embellish or modify your main thought (, which is ' kids are already learning...'). So in written text, it might sound smoother to eliminate one of them. But when speaking, this will completely make sense since it's not abnormal to join clauses and phrases to get our meaning across.
Two hours per week was not enough to reach a basic level, but I found a good motivation for learning within the music.
I used to read the lyrics enclosed with the vinyl records.
Using 'the' before the nouns in this sense, makes it seem like you have previously mentioned a particular vinyl record. Hence you are referencing that specific record. Since you are talking about generic vinyl records, it sounds better to remove the word 'the'.

Awesome piece. The only thing I'll point out is that you switched tenses a bit in your narrative. Though it does not detract from the context, it sounds like you were jumping a bit in the time-frame. So my brain had to do a quick double-step to catch up. Keep it up
