Happiness: Sense of humor

It becomes apparent that you are a pessimist, when you decide to write about happiness.

You know, there are times when things are completely grim, and you can hardly find something optimistic in them. On the other hand, it's pretty much easier to find something negative in good situations. It takes tons of happy moments to make up for grief.

But sometimes life is so absurd, it's ridiculous. My mood changes instantly, when I hear (or make it on my own) a good joke. We can be arguing, I can even be furious, but one joke and I start laughing, and we are friends again, and troubles are forgotten.

The worse times are, the funnier jokes become.

Camus' Sisyphus is happy to push a stone up a hill every day. It's his own riot against the world's absurd. As for me, I don't even try. I just keep laughing, and this is one of my favorite things about life.
