Giving Old Towels A Second Life 古くなったタオルの再利用

Since my bath towels had become a bit worn, I cut each one into eight pieces and hemmed the edges to make cleaning cloths. Cleaning isn’t really my favorite chore, but I’ve been wiping the floors and walls more often because these cloths are very absorbent, soft, and easy to handle. From five towels, I ended up with forty cloths. It’s funny because I don’t really need that many at once. Still, when one gets too dirty, I can just throw it away without regret. I feel happy that the towels I used for two years have been given a second life as cleaning cloths.

古くなったバスタオルを8つに切り、周りを塗ってぞうきんを作った。掃除はあまり好きな家事ではないのだが、このぞうきんはとてもよく水を吸収するし、やわらかく、大きさも扱いやすいので、壁や床をよく拭いている。5枚のバスタオルを切ったので、今40枚のぞうきんを持っている。そんなに一気に使うこともないのにたくさん作ってしまった。ひどい汚れをふき取ったときなどは使い捨てにしようと思う。2年間たっぷり使ったバスタオルがぞうきんに生まれ変わってまた活躍してうれしい。
