Foreign Languages except for English

It is hard to find multilinguals in Japan because most people can't speak even in English. Japanese language has totally different linguistic system from any other languages. That's why I highly respect people who are good command of several languages, including Japanese.
I sometimes dream of becoming trilingual. Taking into account the number of native speakers, Spanish and Chinese have an advantage in traveling abroad. Once I guessed that learning Chinese is easier for us than English speakers since we share the same character kanji. However, little differences in meanings and writings of kanji cause significant troubles in acquiring Chinese. Moreover, the pronounciation is terribly difficult to understand.
Let me know your second languages or your plans!

Corrections

Japanese language has totally different linguistic system from any other languages.

The 'any' is not needed. As an English native, I make this mistake often! The best way to overcome it is through practice.

That's why I highly respect people who arhave good command of severalmany languages, including Japanese.

'Many' and 'several' can be interchangable, but from a stylish perspective, many is an alternative to consider.

Try rewriting this sentence a few times. It's good practice, and may help you develop a fresh perspective on English.

Hello!

Great job at conveying the many nuances of language learning.

Best of luck with your English journey. As I said in the feedback, practice will sharpen your English toolbox. Try rewording sentences to add a stylish flair to your writing. (Note: This is more for intermediate and advanced writers!)

Hi madeleinerjones!
Thank you for your feedback. In order not to make my writings sound like Japanese, I have to sharpen my English toolbox. I will keep practicing.

It is hard to find multilinguals in Japan because most people can't even speak even (in) English.

The "in" could be dropped or not; it's correct either way.

Every language has its unique difficulties. In terms of Chinese and Japanese characters, I find that even though there are differences in how you read and write them, just knowing them makes looking at and understanding texts easier. A lot of the time, if I don't know a word in Japanese, I write in the Chinese word, and often it is correct or almost correct.

I want to learn as many languages as I can! English is my native language, and then in order of fluency, I speak Korean, Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean sign language, and Arabic. I've studied a bit of German and Spanish as well, but I've forgotten most of those >.>

Wow! What a competent multilingual you are! As you said, some Chinese words (or Japanese words) make sense each other. Learning Chinese without pronunciation might be interesting for me.
I guess that knowing differences among languages must change one's way to see the world.

Great job! I'm currently studying Spanish and I'm definitely interested in learning another language, though I'm not sure what it would be. German seems interesting.

That's interesting for me because I'm not sure what languages English speakers like you interested in. I heard that German is more similar to English rather than French and Italian.
