Extraction
Just now, I had my left lower premolar pulled out at my dental office. With this, all four extractions required for my orthodontic treatment are now complete.
I had to see my dentist for each extraction and for disinfection the next day per tooth.
A total of eight appointments have been completed in just three weeks.
(I have a dentist appointment tomorrow for disinfection.)
I'm a housewife and have plenty of free time, so I was able to schedule appointments within a short period. If students or office workers need extractions during orthodontic treatment, it would be difficult for them to arrange appointments. In Japan, to prepare for emergencies after extractions, dentists usually perform them only in the morning.
In general, because upper tooth roots are shorter than lower ones, the former are easier to extract than the latter. In fact, I had my two lower teeth extracted after my two upper teeth.
While the pain in the upper areas has subsided, the previous extraction site—the gum around my lower right premolar—is inflamed and still hurts. My dentist told me that extracting lower teeth requires more force, so pain in the surrounding area tends to last longer.
I have heard that some people have four teeth extracted at once overseas.
Considering the pain after the procedure, I can’t believe it.
I wonder if it’s because it’s difficult to make appointments or because dental clinics are far from home.
My dental office is about a ten-minute walk from my home, so I don’t mind going there multiple times.

外国では一気に4本抜くことがあると聞いたことがありますが、術後の辛さを考えると私には信じられません。予約を取るのが難しい、或いは遠方にしか歯医者がないから一気にやるのでしょうか？
私は自宅から徒歩10分の歯医者に通っているので、通院回数の多さは特に気になりませんでしたが――

Thanks to anesthesia, I didn't have any pain.
However, when I got back home while trying to stop the bleeding, saliva and blood ended up overflowing from my mouth.
Even if I had one tooth pulled out, my shirt became soaked with them.
So, if I had had four teeth pulled out at once, my shirt would have been even more soaked.
I wonder if the gums and bones near the extraction site would have more severe pain.
Restrictions due to insurance seem to be inconvenient.
