Entry of Today

As I said in the last entry, I went for a little walk the day before yesterday. During the walk, I recorded some things that interested me. You can watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/s2-aGQdTMfw. I hope you like it too because I really enjoy it, especially on this cold, rainy day.

I spent a lot of time on Red Note recently since there are so many stunning scenery pictures and videos posted by people from all over the world. But I think I need to limit my time on it and try to schedule my daily routine back.

The weather forecast says it's going to stop raining tomorrow. I'm going to watch some plum blossoms in a big park, which is not very far from my home. I hope they haven't been damaged by the rain.

I think “because” is more natural here, but “since” isn’t wrong.

You could also say “get my daily routine back,” but we don’t really “schedule [something] back.”

The weather forecast says it's going to stop raining tomorrow.

I'm going to watch some{look at some | go see the} plum blossoms in a big park, which is not very far from my home.

“Watch” is for things that change or move while you’re watching them. Since blossoms are generally inanimate, “look at” is more natural. The second alternative I’ve offered, “go see,” is the way I’d say it myself.

I hope they haven't been damaged by the rain.

I like the video, too. Somehow, I didn’t notice the bees on the first flower until I watched it a second time — a lovely surprise. :-)

Seeing the blossoms on the trees, which to me are a sign of springtime, it suddenly makes sense to me that Chinese New Year is called 春節 in China, since it really does occur in springtime in Shanghai and areas farther south. Where I grew up, January & February are the coldest winter months, and spring doesn’t come till April, so the 春 in 春節 never made much sense to me before.

Happy New Year, by the way. 😊🧧🎊

Thank you so much!

You are right. 春节确实是依照中国传统农业区的农业时间来设定的。

I hope you snap some pictures of the peach blossoms.

I wish rain falls here soon. The sun has been very hot.
