Do you read or listen to the news?
I don't read and listen to the news. It's just not interesting for me. I usually discover something when I discuss it with friends. They talk to me about something that bothers them or that they are interested in, and I'm never know about it beforehand.

I feel like using "to" would work better in this context to express your opinion.
