Just saying "chain" helps your sentence sound less repetitive. Dont worry, people will know that you are referring to convenience stores :)
By the way is great! If you want, you could also use "Fun fact, the self-checkout system ..." or "Did you know, that the self-checkout system..."
Are there similar systems in other countries?
Added the -s to systems because countries are plural.
To make it sound more emotional you could add:
I'm curious to know if there are similar systems in other countries. Let me know!

Add a space after the full stop. "Choice" is not a real verb, choose is. To connect clauses, add a semicolon after go and after go, write "to" then add the semi colon because "chain I go" seems incomplete.
Are there similar system in other countries?
In India, not at all. In some posh areas, there are self-checkout systems, and we do not rely on small convenience stores open 24 hours; we rely on big supermarket chains, which we buy from usually on Sundays because there are 6 work days in India, and we make the groceries work for a week, and go buy again, but some families can go up to weeks or even months.
