The use of 'moreover' is great but, as it is a little formal, I would stick to using it in writing and not in speaking. In speaking, you can get away with saying 'And, even when there is sympathy, we may...'
It depends on the context and what exactly you're trying to say, but 'presumptions' also works as well as 'predictions'.
