One of my favorite directors of all time is David Fincher. The first his work that I have seen was Fight Club. This magnificent film has changed my understanding of cinematography; I've seen it three times! It has also acquainted me with my favorite band called Pixies.
After that, I have discovered an array of Fincher's other superb movies, for instance The Social Network. The film tells the story of the creation of Facebook. This movie, as most of his other works, is very vibrant and does not give a chance to glance at the clock while watching. What I like about him is that he approaches the camera work with great finesse, focusing on visual aspects while still paying close attention to the quality of the dialogues and the plot. He was also a producer for some episodes of an anthology series called Love, Death & Robots, which is a dark comedy and science fiction show that covers a new theme each episode. I like anthologies due to their flexibility: when one does not like a particular story, one can just skip the episode and move forward. My favorite one is Black Mirror.
In my opinion, Fincher's best work is the psychological thriller called Mindhunter. This show, which is based on a true story, is set in late 1970s. The plot follows two FBI agents, who were pioneers in approaching serial killers from the psychological point of view. By questioning the most abhorrent criminals of their time, they are trying to understand their way of thinking and underlying causes of their crimes. Unfortunately, Netflix found the production of the series too exorbitant and unprofitable. Hence, the show got cancelled after two seasons and we will never see the completion.
Hello! I am aiming for a formal style of writing. Feel free to correct not only grammar mistakes, but also things that may sound unnatural. Thanks for your help!

David Fincher
One of my favorite movie directors of all time is David Fincher.
Since this is the first sentence and we don't yet know you're talking about movies, it's best to specify what kind of director he is.
The first his work of his that I have seen wais Fight Club.
or: The first work of his that I saw was Fight Club.
This magnificent film has changed my understanding of cinematography; I' have seen it three times!
Since you say you're going for formal writing, it's best to avoid using contractions.
It has also acquainted me with my favorite band called, the Pixies.
In usage, the band's name seems to always be preceded by "the." See here, for example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixies_(band)
After that, I have discovered an array of Fincher's other superb movies, for instance The Social Network.
The film tells the story of the creation of Facebook.
Feedback
Well done.
David Fincher
One of my favorite directors of all time is David Fincher.
The first his work of his that I have seen was Fight Club.
Alternatively: "The first of his works that I have seen was Fight Club."
This magnificent film has changed my understanding of cinematography; I've seen it three times!
It has also acquainted me with my favorite band called Pixies.
After that, I have discovered an array of Fincher's other superb movies, for instance The Social Network.
The film tells the story of the creation of Facebook.
This movie, aslike most of his other works, is very vibrant and does not give (you) a chance to (so much as) glance at the clock while watching.
(1) Alternatively: "This movie, as most of his other works are, is...".
(2) In a previous post of yours, I briefly explained the difference between "just as" and "just like". This is a similar situation, and I will use this opportunity to expand a little on my explanation. When used this way, "as" will generally preceed a clause with a verb, while "like" doesn't. To get technical, "as" is used before a complete subordinate clause. Therefore, if you wish to use "as", you must introduce the verb "are", as I have in (1).
(3) The "so much as" is optional, but you can consider it to emphasise just how riveting the movie is.
What I like about him is that he approaches the camera work with great finesse, focusing on visual aspects while still paying close attention to the quality of the dialogues and the plot.

In my opinion, Fincher's best work is the psychological thriller called Mindhunter.
This show, which is based on a true story, is set in the late 1970s.
The article "the" is expected, because the 1970s is a specific period in time.
The plot follows two FBI agents, who were pioneers in approaching serial killers from the psychological point of view.
By questioning the most abhorrent criminals of their time, they awere trying to understand their way of thinking and the underlying causes of their crimes.
(1) Mind the tense.
(2) The article "the" is expected before "underlying causes". If you do not write "the", the phrase you're implying is "their underlying causes" (the "their" carries over from "their way of thinking"), in which case we'd more often write "their underlying motives for their crimes".
Unfortunately, Netflix found the production cost of the series too exorbitant and unprofitable.
"Exorbitant" modifies an amount. Hence, we don't say "exorbitant production", but "exorbitant production costs" (or "costly production").
Hence, the show got cancelled after two seasons and we will never see the completion.
