Daily life: Part 15

Dr. Gupta:
To continue our discussion of the health benefits of good nutrition, I'd like you to consider the broader topic of eating habits--not just what people eat and drink, but how often, how much, and when. Those who want to improve their health often begin by changing some kinds of eating habits. This includes a wide range of behaviors. What is one poor eating habit that would be important for most people to change, and why?

Kelly:
If people could start with one change to improve their eating habits, it would be to eat a better breakfast. Most people are so rushed in the morning that they don't take the time to sit down and eat a balanced meal. A good breakfast gives you more energy all day and keeps you from eating too much later on.

Paul:
I think most people don't bother to learn much about the food that they eat. This ignorance is a kind of bad eating habit, It can be burdensome, but you should try to read every food package label. The more you can learn about what you're putting in your body, the more likely you'll be to make good decisions.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Actually, Kelly and Paul make a good point that bad eating habits would harm people's health. In addition, I want to point out another bad eating habit that could decrease our health as well. It's a late-night snack. As we all know, recently, more people prefer to stay up all night, with the only thing on their minds is eating some junk food. such as a convenience noodle, spicy jerk, various snacks that could get on the online, or maybe order some food that includes a surplus of oil, which would let you weigh up! These junk foods must damage your health and make you get a common disease. especially causes stomach problems. Finally, you need to pay a lot of money on hospital. Don't take a toll on your health.

Those who want to improve their health often begin by changing some kinds of eating habits.

kind is not really natural here to English speakers. We don't really categorize eating habits.

A good breakfast gives you more energy all day and keeps you from eating too much later on.

This ignorance is a kind of bad eating habit, Iit can be burdensome, but you should try to read the label on every food package label.

Rearranged the ordering to sound lightly more natural at the end but it's not really a big deal how you had it originally

In addition, I want to point out another bad eating habit that could decreasamage our health as well.

damage or reduce are a bit more natural to use when talking about health then the verb decrease

As we all know, recently, more people prefer to stay up all night, withhere the only thing on their minds is eating some junk food.

- with isn't the correct word here, it should be where. If you want to use with, then you have to change 'is' to 'being' -> '... with the only thing on their minds being eating junk food.' I can't explain why though :(
- using 'some' lessens the negativity of the sentence so I removed it so it's more impactful. It's less negative because they don't want junk food, they only want some junk food and some implies a smaller amount so it's not as bad

such as a convenienc2-minute noodles, spicy jerky, various snacks that cyould get on the can buy online, or maybe order some food that includes a surplulots of oil, which would letmake you put on weigh upt!

- convenience noodles are called 2-minute noodles in English
- spicy jerk -> I think you mean jerky (dried beef)
- could get online is a bit unnatural when talking about food you can buy
- surplus of oil is also a little weird. Surplus is more synonymous with 'plenty' in a neutral sense then 'too much' in a negative sense. For example we have plenty of money -> we have a surplus of money
- which would let you weigh up doesn't make sense. I think you mean make you put on weight. Put on weight is the standard way in English to express getting fatter

These junk foods must damage your health and make you get a commonlead to disease.

- make you get a common disease is unnatural in English, far simpler to just say 'lead to disease' or 'result in disease'
- Might be a bit counter intuitive but the word 'must' reduces the credibility of the statement as opposed to strengthening it

especially causesing stomach problems.

Finally, you'll need to pay a lot of money oin hospital bills.

- You are talking about the future so 'you need to' needs to be put in the future -> 'you'll need to'
- Added bills to be more specific about what you will be paying for at the hospital

Don't take a toll onplay with your health.

- Taking a toll on something is used more in the context of something getting weakened or damaged by something else. For example The long hike took a toll on their energy. Here we are saying that the hike reduced or weakened the energy of these people.
- Don't play with your health is an expression to say take your health seriously
