Balance

Maybe 2 years ago, I wrote to ask friends learning Chinese to write more journals, because at that time, I received many more corrections than I made.

Nowadays, I have noticed an opposite imbalance.

There are more and more journals that need to be corrected every day, but I am only receiving feedback from several old friends.

Sometimes I think it's not healthy for the ecosystem on this platform, so I have limited my corrections to keep the balance.

Balance

Maybe 2 years ago, I wrote to ask friends learning Chinese to {write more journals entries | post more often}, because at that time, I {received | was receiving} many more corrections than I {made | was making}.

A journal is a collection of journal entries.

Nowadays, I have noticed an opposite imbalance.

There are more and more journalentries / posts that need to be corrected every day, but I am only receiving feedback from several old friends.

Sometimes I think it's not healthy for the ecosystem on this platform, so I have limited my corrections to keep the balance.

Feedback

I was active on the Lang-8 platform for 10 years before it shut down, and I used to refuse to correct the posts of anyone who didn’t regularly correct others’ posts. But then I noticed that some of the infrequent correctors really weren’t very good at making corrections in their native language — they often “corrected” things that weren’t wrong or introduced new errors into the text. I wondered if perhaps some of these people were already aware of the mediocrity of their native-language skills and were limiting the number of corrections they were making to avoid confusing or misleading the people receiving their corrections, so I stopped avoiding their posts.

Now I rarely post anything myself but still correct others’ posts now & then, so I suppose I’m contributing to the “imbalance,” but in the opposite direction. :-D

也有可能: Striving for Balance

Maybe 2Roughly two years ago, I wrote to ask friends learning Chinese to write more journals, because at that time, I received many more corrections than I made.

也有可能:Nowadays, I have noticed anthe opposite imbalatendencey.

There are more and more journals that need to be corrected every day, but I am only receiving feedback from several old friends.only several old friends offer me feedback.

我的猜测: Sometimes I think it's not healthy for the ecosystem onf this platform, so I have limited my corrections to keep the balance.those take the time to correct my entries.

明智的选择! 没有足够的时间来纠正我们的条目。 有些人只索取而不给予。 只有互惠才能在长时间内有效发挥作用。/ A wise choice! There is not enough time to correct our entries. Some people take without ever giving. Only reciprocity works well in long time spans.

Feedback

It is understandable 👍🏾. We need more Chinese correctors.

Maybe 2 years ago, I wrote to ask friends learning Chinese, asking them to write more journals, because at that time, I received many more corrections than I madgave.

"made" also works at the end, but as the sentence emphasizes the difference in amount received vs. amount given, using "gave" is more natural.

Nowadays, I have noticed anthat the opposite imbalancs true.

Or "Nowadays, I have noticed that the balance has flipped."
We don't usually say "an opposite imbalance" in English.

There are more and more journals that need to be corrected every day, but I am only receiving feedback from several old friends.

"several old friends" makes sense, though a more natural way of saying it in English (at least from my perspective) would be "the same (few) people".

Sometimes I think ithat that's not healthy for the ecosystem on this platform, so I have limited my correctionsthe amount of corrections I give in order to keep the balance.

To emphasize that "my corrections" refers to corrections you are giving, not corrections you are receiving.
"it's" also works, but since you are referring to something in a previous sentence, using "that's" makes that connection more clear.
