Bachelor's Thesis - Abstract

This work aims to offer a real-time depth-based gesture recognition system using a hand’s skeletal information. The Tiny YOLOv3 neural network detects the hand in the depth image. The detected hand is rid of the background and used by the JGR-P2O neural network, which estimates the hand’s skeleton represented by 21 key points. Furthermore, a novel technique for gesture recognition from hand key points has been proposed that compares the input skeleton with user-defined gestures. A dataset consisting of four thousand images was captured to evaluate the system.

Bachelor's Thesis - Abstract

This work aims to offer a real-time, depth-based gesture recognition system using a hand’s skeletal information.

The Tiny YOLOv3 neural network detects the hand in the depth image.

The detected hand is rid of the background and used by the JGR-P2O neural network, which estimates the hand’s skeleton which in turn is represented by 21 key points.

Furthermore, a novel technique for gesture recognition from hand key points has been proposed that compares the input skeleton with user-defined gestures has been proposed.

A dataset consisting of four thousand images was captured to evaluate the system.

Thanks for the corrections!

I'm just wondering---is my sentence incorrect or does it just sound better if I add "which in turn"?
Thanks!

Furthermore, a novel technique for gesture recognition from hand key points has been proposed that compares the input skeleton with user-defined gestures has been proposed.

Is it wrong or does it just sound unnatural? I'm thinking whether it might be better structured if I divided the sentence in two sentences:
"Furthermore, a novel technique for gesture recognition from hand key points has been proposed. It compares the input skeleton with user-defined gestures."
But still, I'd prefer if the "has been proposed" wasn't placed at the end of the sentence. What do you think?

I don't know whether the sentence was incorrect or not without it, but I was having a really hard time understanding it before.

You could split it into two sentences and it sounds fine. I can think of some ways to reword the sentence in order to put the "has been proposed" elsewhere, but it's kind of uncomfortable doing it because I'm unsure of whether or not it would change the meaning of the sentence slightly. This isn't my particular field of expertise so I'm hesitant to suggest any major changes. I'm sorry I can't help more but I hope you found my edits useful!
