The building is a semi-circular construction made of red bricks with nineteen sheds, in which the trains used to be stored.

Due to the rapide expansion of the train network, the city decieded to move the train station to the current place and bought the original station two years later.

Since the old train station is buildt on the opposite side of the town hall, the city used it as a giant storage room and archive for several years.

In 1998, the building was used for a exhibition about "bajuwaren" (an old form of the word "bavarian" which applies to people from old bavaria, austria and south tirol).
