La importancia de la gastronomía
La gastronomía es muy importante para la vida, ya que la preparación de la comida es una terapia para aquellos que cocinan y la mesa lista es una satisfacción para todos, pues es un momento especial para la unión. Por eso, la comida esta presente en varios encuentros personales, familiares y profesionales.
Además, la navidad es un ejemplo de fecha muy importante para estas memórias, porque el objetivo es la unión de la familia y amigos. En este contexto, una de las actividades para hacer todos juntos, es el preparo de la comida, porque juntos hay participación y colaboración, sea en la barbacoa o en la cocina.
Asimismo, una de mis experiencias favoritas es mi primera navidad en que ayude con la comida, junto con mi madre, abuela y tía. Mientras ellas hacian el arroz, pollo, ensalada y otros pratos, yo hacia los dulces, como por ejemplo: el helado y el mousse de fruta de la pasión.
Esta memoria es muy especial para mí, porque yo me recuerdo de las bromas, de la música, de la unión familiar y de los desastres que hice en la cocina, que son muy graciosos. También, al final de todo, la satisfacción que tuve con toda la mesa lista y bonita y toda mi familia junta, fue maravilloso.

Finalmente è venerdi, niente batte il pensiero che fra qualche ora concludo la settimana lavorativa.
È stata un'altra settimana lunghissima, come tutte le altre. Fortunatamente ho saputo l'orario di lavoro per il prossimo mese.
È esattamente ciò che volevo e sono felice di poter avere altre lezioni d'italiano a dicembre.
Non vedo l'ora di finire il turno e di mangiare del cibo spazzatura! Non è qualcosa che mi faccia bene, ma è esattamente ciò di cui ho bisogno adesso.

Ottenere la patente di guida in Francia
Oggi, il Signor Elefante risponde al proprio suggerimento di argomento, e si, il Signor Elefante parla di se stesso alla terza persona del plurale, come tutti gli umili!
Per ottenere una patente di guida in Francia, si deve passare per due tappe: «le code» (la parte teorica) e «la conduite» (la parte pratica).
L'esame della parte teorica consta di 40 domande a scela multipla su diversi domandi come la mecanica, i segnali stradali, le regole di precedenza e soprattutto, la regolamentazione legale di sicurezza. Si deve avere al minimo avere 35 risposte giuste per avere «il code», che da il diretto di iniziare a guidare con un'autoscuola.
Se lo studente ha scelto un'autoscuola tradizionale, gli instruttori lo inscrivono all'esame pratico, che dura 40 minuti. Questo giorno, un ispettore nazionale sale nella macchina ed evalua la capacità del candidato di guidare in condizioni di sicurezza ottimali. In tutti gli esami, ci sono le stesse tappe, come guidare un quartiere dove si deve fare attenzione alle precedenze a destra, inserirsi in un'autostrada o fare una manovra (fare marcia indietro in linea retta, parcheggiare parallelo o perpendiculare, ecc).
Qualche giorni dopo, il candidato può connettersi al sitio governativo idoneo per sapere se ha ottenuto il Santo Graal!
Dico «il Santo Graal» ironicamente, perché tutto questo è carissimo e ritengo che non sia facile avere la patente qui. Nel mio caso, lo è stato. Ho fallito molte volte, ma non mi sono arreso, sono stato andato avanti e oggi, ho il Santo Graal. È una fierezza personale! Per molti giovani, è una gran spesa di soldi e di energia, ed è facile lasciarsi demotivare. La mia nepote ha comenciato la tappa pratica ma ha già avuto problemi con diverse autoscuole che non avevano un atteggiamento molto professionale, direi per non essere scortese, e non si sente a proprio agio quando guida. Ora, mi sembra che abbia perso la motivazione di continuare.
Dai 16 anni, è anche possibile fare una cosa che si chiama «la guida accompagnata», cioè, guidare sotto la sorveglianza di un adulto (un genitore, molto spesso) e allo stesso tempo, imparare le basi della guida con un'autoscuola. Questo apprendimento che combina teoria e pratica si estende su alcuni anni. Secondo i dati ufficiali, gli studenti che imparano in guida accompagnata hanno più successo degli altri, ma molti instruttori mi hanno detto che avevano spesso problemi con loro, perché prendono cattive abitudini guidando con i genitori. Quindi, non so qual è la verità!

Nowadays, our society has entered the stage of the aging. The decrease in birth rate and the increase in average life expectancy as well as the increase in the elderly population over 65 years old is called an aging society. The reason may be because the number of young people who do not want to get married increases and the birth rate decreases because of getting married but not having children. The economic fluctuations and the burden of raising children may also impact negatively on the birth rate. The improvement in medical technology has helped people to live longer, so the increase in average life expectancy may also be a reason of this problem.

Abbiamo deciso di andare via e siamo usciti dal palazzo.
Ci siamo trovati in un luogo di Firenze dove i turisti non vanno mai. Dopo la pioggia, l’aria era diventata fresca e il silenzio ci aveva avvolti.
I lampioni hanno illuminato le stradine di ciottoli e gli edifici antichi, creando un’atmosfera quasi surreale.

Dépendance
Aujourd'hui j'aimerais aborder un sujet d'actualité, la risque de devenir dépendant de l'alcool, du tabac ou du cannabis.Pourquoi certaines personnes arrivent-elles à se contenter d'un verre de vin de temps en temps alors que d'autres développent une addiction ? J'ai lu un article scientifique qui apporte quelques éléments de réponse.
Selon cette étude un fait était pour moi très intéressant : si une personne de notre ligne directe, un de nos parents par exemple, est dépendante, on a 40 à 70 % de risque en plus de la devenir à notre tour. Selon les scientifiques, la perte de contrôle très rapide sur la consommation d'alcool est également d'origine génétique et neurobiologique.
D'autre part, il est fascinant de constater que 18 % des Français ne boivent jamais d'alcool, ce qui me semble beaucoup. Ici, en Allemagne , tout le monde croit que les Français boivent de l'alcool tous les jours à l'heure du déjeuner et au dîner. Parmi ces 18 % il y a des personnes que ne boivent jamais d'alcool à cause d'avoir un parent alcoolique.
L' addiction serait-elle alors une maladie environmentale aussi? On habite ensemble avec un parent , ça signifie qu'il soi-même devient alcoolique également ? Selon moi, la réponse, l'explication est plus complexe et nécessite des recherches.

ユーロトラックシミュレーター２
「ユーロトラックシミュレーター２」というゲームをプレイしてみました。去年のSteam Saleの時に適当に買ったゲームです。その時、30分ぐらいプレイしてみましたが、いろいろ忙しかったのでゆっくり楽しむことができませんでした。
昨夜、仕事の後に暇があったので「じゃ、ポッドキャストを聞きながらプレイしてみようかな」と思ってそうしました。なぜか言えないがめっちゃ楽しかった。ただトラック運転手の役をやるゲームですがはまりやすいです。ただ場所から場所へ行って、道路に何も起こらなくて、普通のヨロパの交通を楽しむゲームです。運転しながらポッドキャストやラジオの番組を聞くと最高です。ヨロパの田舎の雰囲気がたまらない。今夜ももっとプレイします。もう帰りたい！（笑）

El invierno ha regresado
Por fin, el inverno ha empezado aquí. Hace mucho frío otra vez, y ya hemos recibido un montón de nieve esta semana. No estoy muy feliz de esto porque odio la nieve y los temperaturas frías. Prefiero sentarme en el calor y tomar el sol. Desafortunadamente, el invierno dura más de medio año aquí, así que no podré hacer esas actividades por un tiempo. También dependo en el bús para ir hasta y desde la escuela, y la nieve causa demoras inconvenientes. Pero significa que la Navidad está cerca y ahora es el momento para los eventos festivos. Supongo que todo que pueda hacer ahora es abrigarme y levantarme temprano para llegar a lugares a tiempo 😔

About Data Bias
I apologize for using jargon in my last entry without explaining it, so this one is written to explain.
Data bias is a term used in the field of data analysis. It happens when information is collected or analyzed in a way that leads to unfair or inaccurate conclusions because the data doesn't represent all possibilities equally.
There are four typical types of data bias, sampling bias, observer bias, interpretation bias, and confirmation bias. You might already know the definitions from their names.
At work, I have to consider bias and fairness from the moment we start collecting data until we present our conclusions. So Sensing data bias in daily life is almost one of my occupational habits.
Data bias is everywhere so I'm tired of correcting it and I just let it go except for my projects at work.

Wieder zu Hause in Ithaca
Ich glaube, dass ich nach Ithaca gehöre, weil ich die Natur, die Wasserfälle, die Menschen und die kulturellen Veranstaltungen an der Cornell Universität liebe. Zum Beispiel kann ich jeden Montag mit anderen Personen auf Deutsch im Sprachcafé sprechen. Außerdem wandere ich jeden Monat mit meinem Freund auf den Wanderwegen. Im Sommer und Herbst mache ich viele Fotos.
Meine guten Freunde sind so freundlich und fantastisch. Es gibt viele Momente, in denen wir jeden Donnerstag Jazz, Ballett oder Hip-Hop im Tanzstudio tanzen. Es macht Spaß, und ich lerne dabei viele Tanzschritte. Leider tanzt mein Freund nicht gerne, aber wir klettern mindestens drei Mal pro Woche. Es ist herausfordernd, aber ich liebe es, mit meinem Freund zu klettern, weil er mich dabei motiviert.

La contrôle d’un permis de conduire au états unis
C’est pas tres difficile de avoir un permis de conduire au EU. Tu dois passe un test de connaissance quand tu est 15 et un teste de competence de conduire quand vous êtes 16 ans. les deux examens est plus facile et la majorité de les personnes qui prende la teste passe ca sur la premiere attempte. J’ai mon permis et j’ai reçu ca avec pas de problème.

Resumen de El hobbit: Capítulo 7
Capítulo 7: Extraños Aposentos
Al principio de capítulo 7, las águilas vuelan hacia el este, llevando a Bilbo, a Gandalf y a los enanos en sus lomos. Los dejan sobre una gran roca y Gandalf les recuerda que debe irse pronto, y que todos deben seguir adelante sin él. Esto entristece a los demás, pero Gandalf los promete guiarlos hasta el Bosque Negro. Continúan caminando hasta llegar a una granja con muchos colmenas, caballos y otros animales. Es la casa de Beorn. Beorn es un hombre enorme con la capacidad de transformarse en oso. Gandalf se presenta a Beorn y empieza a contar la historia de su aventura, mientras los enanos llegan lentamente en grupos para no alarmar a Beorn. Beorn se interesa tanto por la historia que no le importa mucho, hasta que por fin los quince se han reunido en su porche. Beorn odia a los trasgos también. Decide ayudarlos y les da comida y cobijo para pasar la noche.
Cuando se despiertan, Beorn se ha ido. Regresa más tarde y les dice que estaba espiando a los trasgos y que los están buscando. Les dice que tomen el camino en el norte del Bosque Negro que es menos peligroso y los llevará más cerca de la Montaña Solitaria. Además, los trasgos no esperarán que vayan por este camino. La senda del norte tampoco es completamente segura y les avierte nunca se desvíen de ella. Les proporciona comida y poneys para usar hasta que lleguen al Bosque Negro y entonces deben devolver los poneys. Más tarde, cuando llegan al borde del bosque, Gandalf les dice que él también debe partir y se despiden. Entonces entran en el Bosque Negro.

世の中にないほうがよいものを１つ選んでその理由を書きましょう。
世の中には、不幸をもたらす要因が数多く存在する。偏見、差別、戦争、殺人など、すぐに思い浮かぶものもあるだろう。だが、これらの不幸の原因も、視点や文脈を変えることで、必ずしも絶対悪とは言えない場合がある。例えば、ジェフリー・ダーマーは１７人の青少年を絞殺し、その後屍姦や死体切断、人肉食といった凶行を繰り返した連続殺人犯である。彼はインタビューで「もし捕まっていなかったら、今でも犯罪を続けていたと思いますか？」と問われ、「おそらく」と答えた。彼が犯罪を止める意思を持っていなかったことは明白だ。
このような極悪非道な人物を殺害し、彼らの凶行に終止符を打つことは、果たして悪いことなのだろうか。彼らを排除することでさらなる悪事が防げるなら、それは間違いなく社会に利益をもたらす行為だと言える。故に、場合によっては殺人が正当化されるどころか、善行とさえ考えられるのではないだろうか。
戦争についても同様だ。悪影響が圧倒的に大きいことは否定できないが、良い面が全くないわけではない。歴史を振り返ると、戦争が多くの人々を抑圧から解放した例もある。例えば、アメリカの南北戦争。この戦争は、北部と南部での奴隷制を巡る対立が原因だった。北部は奴隷制を道徳的に許しがたい悪と見なしていた一方で、南部は奴隷制度を経済基盤として維持しようとしていた。北部がこの南北戦争に勝利したことで、奴隷制という非人道的な制度が終わり、多くの人々が解放された。この戦争がなければ、奴隷制はアメリカでさらに長く続いていたかもしれない。
だが、病気という不幸の原因だけは例外である。病気には、良い側面と呼べるものは存在しない。病気は無数の人々に苦痛を与え続けてきた。その苦痛は、風邪で学校を休まなければならないといった軽い不便さから、黒死病のような恐ろしく残酷な死に至るまで、さまざまである。
確かに、病気は医療研究を推進してきた。しかし、もし病気が元々存在していなかったら、その病気に関する研究自体は必要なかっただろう。アメリカは毎年、こういった病気の治療法やワクチンを開発するために莫大な資金を費やしている。だが、病気が最初から存在しなかったならば、その資金を他の研究に充てることができ、社会はもっと早く発展していたに違いない。そもそも、病気がなければ、疫病などで命を落としたはずの偉人は死なないことになり、その偉人たちはもっと早くいろんな素晴らしい発明を生み出しただろう。
さらに、病気がないだけで人々の生活は大きく変わるはずだ。たとえば、病気による苦しみや不安がなくなれば、人々はより健康的で穏やかな日々を送れるだろう。自分や家族の健康を心配する必要がなくなり、精神的な負担が軽減されることで、幸福感も高まる。病気のない世界では、生きること自体がもっと楽しく、充実したものになるに違いない。
だからこそ、世の中にないほうがいいものは『病気』だと私は思う。

About "Be-Verb"
Native English speakers might not think that "be-verb (am, are, was, were, been, be)" is a verb.
Yet, Japanese people learn that English verbs arre roughly categorised into two verbs: "be-verb （be動詞）” and "other common verbs （一般動詞)" at their English grammar class.
The first person singular be-verb should be "am" or "was."
But there is one exception:
In "conditional type 2," I learned that you should use "were" instead of "was" fifty years ago: For example: "If I were a bird, I would fly to you now."
However, native Engilish speakers on LangCorrect tend to correct "were" to "was."
Therefore, I learn that English grammar rule could be changed as years go by.
This morning, I have another exception in the sentence, "I'm doing my degree in performing arts, aren't I?"
I think the last part should be "amn't I?" grammatically speaking.
"I" is the first person singular pronoun, which should accompanied by "am" in the simple present tense, not "are."
Yet, in this real world, native speakers use "aren't I?"
This type of questions is grammatically called 付加疑問文 (the tag questions) in Japanese.
"The be-verb in the tag question for "I am ~~~," is "aren't I" although I don't think tag questions for the first person singular seems to be very rare.
Because, someone doesn't ask to other person or people about themselves.
They know about themselves more than anybody else.
Therefore, "I'm ～～～, arn't I?" is used for a kind of rhetorical question. Not a simple question.
Yet, "tag questions" are used for something rhetorical from the beginning.
Anyway, it's very interesting to know!
I didn't know this grammar rule for over 50 years!

My account was blocked
The other day, my account on Nyan-8 was blocked by a Chinese user, which made me very annoyed. In fact, I just posted in opposition of her opinion and didn’t attack her at all. A few months ago, my fellow learner of Chinse, named “A”, was involved in a kind of quarrel on the site. He has been posting many negative news about the Chinese government, which caused a criticism from a Chinese user as follows.
“You often posted one-sided and even false content about China on Lang-8. Many of your comments even had the idea of splitting China. I think this is wrong. If I say that the four northern islands should belong to Russia, would you be happy? If it is a language learning website, please stop posting these comments. I have no intention of changing a person, and you will not think that what you see is one-sided or even false news, but at least Nyan-8 still has a chance to survive and truly replace the previous Lang-8, so let it exist as a language learning website, instead of becoming a place full of mutual attacks and dissatisfaction.”
In response to this, A wrote as follows.
“If you say that the four northern islands should belong to Russia, I disagree but I respect your opinion. If you say that Taiwan is part of China, I disagree but I respect your opinion. It is important to respect each other's opinions. All I post is true. There is no false content about China. This is a Japanese website where you can express your personal opinions at will. It is different from Chinese websites.”
I totally agreed with A and commented as follows.
“Nyan-8 is a community where freedom of speech is guaranteed, and it should remain that way. In such a place, different opinions are naturally welcomed, and no one needs to feel uncomfortable, because we would never personally attack anyone, but only debate by argument. No offence, just opinions. If you feel discomfort with an article posted by A, you should calmly accept that there should be different opinions from your own. That's the ideal free world. Even if you claim some of his posts are one-sided or false, please cite evidence to support your opinion. True understanding and communication begin with a positive attitude, not with a negative one at all. You must not block him nor avoid reading his posts, much less to try to exclude him.
Then, X and I were abruptly blocked by her. It is quite appalling that she ignored our opinions without citing any evidence to support her opinion. She had no intention to communicate further with us. She just wanted to speak out her feelings. I think she is very childish.

Sono andato all'ambasciata di Canada a Tokyo per rinnovare il mio passaporto. Sono sempre nervoso riguardo questi tipi di cose. Però oggi non avevo nessuno problema, e ho finito prima delle 11. Nella hall c'erano un vecchio canadese e sua moglie giapponese. Il vecchio mi ha detto che aveva lasciato il suo passaporto nei pantaloni e che li aveva messo in lavatrice. Il suo passaporto era rovinato e adesso aveva bisogno di una sostituto. Che imbarazzato! Sono venuti tutto il tragitto da Kobe. È molto lontano e non economico con lo Shinkansen (il treno ad alta velocità). È come viaggiando da Milano a Roma. Ho detto, "non può aiutarLei il consolato di Osaka?" Ha detto, che ha contatto il consolato a Osaka, ma gli aveva detto che dovrebbe venire all'ambasciata canadese di Tokyo. Che cassino! Mi è dispiaciuto per quel tizio.
Dopo sono andato a Shinkuju (in Tokyo) e ho pranzato. Ho dovuto usare il mio iPhone e un codice QR solo per ordinare un hamburger dal menu! Il mondo sta cambiando. Poi ho comprato dei libri al gran libreria "Kinokunya." Ho preso un treno presto a casa e sono arrivato in tempo per insegnare a due classe di alunni della scuola media. Che giornata impegnativa!

Le taux de natalité en Chine
L’Inde et la Chine dont j’ai déjà parlé dans mon entrée précédente sont les pays les plus peuplés du monde. Pourtant, comme j’ai déjà évoqué, le taux de natalité en Chine est entrain de baisser. Le gouvernement chinois s’inquiète et a mis en place une campagne agressive. Le but de cette campagne est d’encourager les femmes d’avoir plus de bébés.
Selon un reportage que j’ai lu, des milliers de jeunes femmes chinoises sont appelées régulièrement par des fonctionnaires. Ces fonctionnaires demandent sans détour si la femme est enceinte et si elle répond non, le fonctionnaire pose la question, pourquoi pas ? Je considère cela comme très impolie et une atteinte à la vie privée.
Les femmes chinoises sont très fâchées et mécontentes. Cette campagne vigoureuse n’a pas réussi et à mon avis ne réussira plus jamais. Ce dont le gouvernement chinois a besoin, c’est de soutenir davantage les femmes qui travaillent et de leur offrir des incitations.

Comparer les populations en Inde et en Chine
Tous d’entre nous connaissent que l’Inde at la Chine sont les pays les plus peuplés du monde suivi par les États-Unis en troisième position. Cependant, pouvez-vous devenir quel pays est en tête du classement ? Pour autant que je sache, c’est la Chine. Mais non, je me suis trompe puisqu’actuellement, c’est l’Inde.
De nos jours, la population chinoise est environ 1,4 milliards de personnes qui est assez élevé comme même. Néanmoins, le facteur significatif est le taux de natalité qui au fur et à mesure, a baissé en Chine. Pour l’instant, c’est 1,2 enfants par femme. Au contraire, le taux de naissance en Inde est beaucoup élevé à 2,0.
Il y a beaucoup de raisons pour cette baisse. Le coûte de vie, une pénurie de soutien pour les femmes suivent une carrière et le stéréotype de rôles familiaux en font partie.
