From the childhood I have loved classic literature about adventures, pirates and other romantic things in the tropics in the 18-20th centuries.
I like the stories of Arthur Conan Doyle and "Treasure Island" of Robert Louis Stevenson.
But I got the most pleasure from the series "Cabbages and Kings" that was written by O.Henry.
I read it while I was in the middle of Russia. It was winter, the mornings were dark, there was a lot of snow everywhere.
The book easily carried me to a hot coast of some Caribbean island. I could share the character's feelings about annoying hot air and salty sea.
Oh, how awesome looks the plot about the gorgeuos woman with olive skin and courage personality for which you could do the crazy things like stole all the money from the country treasure.
I think the fact that he lived in Honduras for a few years adds some depth and truth to this series.
I find O.Henry one of the best authors, his other stories are very gentle and interesting too.

I think this kinds of books or authors suits both teens and adults (for example, recently I read Tom Sawyer at first time).

This books was one of the reason that I moved to Bali, lol.
