副詞の復習
どうか私の主張を裏付けてください。
どうか私が情けないと思わないでください。
いよいよ新しい新幹線の開通式が始まる。
いよいよ明日は行楽に旅立つ。

「なって」 is acceptable. However, "後" shows your idea clearly, I think.
"て" of 「なって」 is just connecting 2 clauses as a list; "I was fired. I have bad habits."
ひとまず仕事にの復帰に向けて取り計らってみるだけ試行錯誤してみるつもりだ。
「ひとまず」 shows that you will try several things (not only one) because "ひとまず" is made from "one" and "at *first*."
That's why "だけ" doesn't suit, I feel.
"に" :: "仕事に復帰する" --- [仕事に] + [復帰する](verb phrase)
"の" :: "仕事の復帰" --- [仕事の復帰] noun phrase
"取り計らう" sounds odd. I'm not familiar with it, though.
