A contactless delivery has increased because of the Covid-19. I ordered something on Amazon the other day. After delivery, I got an email that the delivery was done. I noticed that a photo of the package on the doorstep was attached to the email. This is the first time I have received an email with a photo, so I tweeted it. It turned out that it depends on the delivery person whether or not a photo is attached to the email. Here is my tweet: https://twitter.com/t_namba/status/1575693202023071744

Today, I'm going to write about a field day in elementary school. In Japan, every elementary school holds a field day once a year. My youngest son was in the 6th grade of elementary school eight years ago. At that time, they made a human pyramid. Some schools stop the pyramids because it's dangerous, but I was impressed by it. My youngest son was short, so he stood at the top of the pyramid. Here is the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_Nexh7z2ok

I saw an interesting short video on Twitter yesterday. On the video, a man sliced a ball flying at 160 km/h using a Japanese sword. Here is the tweet: https://twitter.com/yuetu_karate/status/1573600018287984640?cxt=HHwWgIDUyaO4xtYrAAAA The video reminded me that I watched a TV show a few years ago. In the show, a pistol and a Japanese sword faced off. A man shot a fixed Japanese sword with a pistol. The bullet split in two and scattered, but the Japanese sword was unharmed. Here is the video of the show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fu8Z-su6168

The Japanese Meteorological Agency announced yesterday that next winter will be cold because of the La Nina phenomenon. If the sea temperature near Peru decreases, that is called the La Nina phenomenon. If it occurs, it will be a cold winter in Japan. On the other hand, the sea temperature near Peru increases, that is called the El Nino phenomenon and it causes a warm winter in Japan. It is strange that the seawater temperature near South America affects the weather in Japan. I'm happy if it will snow a lot at the ski resort because I like skiing.

A typhoon is approaching Japan, but the weather hasn't been terrible so far. I looked up how to say this situation in English. It turned out that there are similar phrases in English and Japanese. The phrase is that "The calm before the storm". The typhoon is weakening, so it will be ok when it will be closest to Osaka tonight. By the way, I went for a walk early this morning, I took a photo of the sunrise. Here is the photo: https://twitter.com/t_namba/status/1571597494831947776

It is very hot and humid today because of a typhoon. It was cloudy in Osaka, but it was raining heavily in Tokyo, which is farther away from the typhoon than Osaka. The weather forecast said that it will be the biggest typhoon that you have ever experienced. JR announced that the bullet train also known as the Shinkansen between Hakata and Shin-Osaka will be canceled tomorrow. The typhoon will be closest to Osaka tomorrow afternoon.

There is a popular TV show called "Tantei Knight Scoop" in Japan. Especially it is very popular in Kansai. The viewers ask the show to solve their problems. Last week's episode is from a mother who has a daughter in junior high school. According to her, her daughter never put?her mask off in her school. She has a boyfriend, but they have never seen their face each other without the?mask, so the mother worries about their future. The mother asked the show to let them take off their masks. Her boyfriend said that I will love forever whatever you look like with your mask off. Finally, they put their mask off. Japanese people understand expressions from the eyes, Japanese are not so reluctant to wear masks. On the other hand, Westerners understand facial expressions made by the movements of the mouth, so they don't want to wear masks.

Yesterday was Harvest Moon. According to the weather forecast, it was supposed to be cloudy, but I was able to see it. I took a photo of the moon. Here are the photos: http://namiki.opal.ne.jp/2022/20220910/w800/ Early this morning, I rode my motorcycle to Togetsu-Kyo in Kyoto. It was about 20 Km from my house. It took about 30 minutes to get there. I arrived there at 5:40. There are a lot of people there in the day, but fewer in the early morning. Here are some photos: http://namiki.opal.ne.jp/bike/2022/20220911/w800/index-e.html

I wrote about a YouTube channel called "Itchy Boots" before. A Dutch woman is traveling around the world by her motorcycle. This time, she is at Canadian Rocky. My wife and I traveled there in 1997. The scenery was awesome. Unfortunately, Athabasca Glacier seems to have melted considerably due to global warming. At that time, we rode in a six-wheeled vehicle on the glacier. As I was watching the video, I felt very nostalgic. Here is her video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JazJjTxyR8

I was surprised by the news of Queen Elizabeth's death. In Japan, there has been a lot of TV coverage about her. I pray that she rests in peace. I found a nice photo on Twitter. Here is the photo: https://twitter.com/sampandoj/status/1567865578160807938 By the way, today, I went to my office to have my yearly health examination for the first time in a while. I rained early this morning, but, luckily, it stopped raining while I was riding my motorcycle to commute.

I ordered the 8th volume of a comic called "Suji de Asobo" on Amazon the other day, and it arrived today. This comic is about a student majoring in mathematics at Yoshida University. Yoshida University is a fictional university, but it's modeled after Kyoto University. Tokyo University and Kyoto University are the best universities in Japan. My oldest son is a graduate student at Kyoto University, majoring in astrophysics.
